Systolic freedom of orientable manifolds [PDF]
In 1972, Marcel Berger defined a metric invariant that captures the `size' of k-dimensional homology of a Riemannian manifold. This invariant came to be called the k-dimensional SYSTOLE.

Graphs of Large Girth and Surfaces of Large Systole [PDF]
The systole of a hyperbolic surface is bounded by a logarithmic function of its genus. This bound is sharp, in that there exist sequences of surfaces with genera tending to infinity that attain logarithmically large systoles.

A systolic inequality with remainder in the real projective plane
The first paper in systolic geometry was published by Loewner’s student P. M. Pu over half a century ago. Pu proved an inequality relating the systole and the area of an arbitrary metric in the real projective plane.

The graphic registration of heart sounds and murmurs (phonocardiography) has greatly facilitated analysis of their pattern, timing, and relation to hemodynamics. Many of the principles and facts so established are being applied to auscultation with great benefit to that art.

Systoles of hyperbolic manifolds [PDF]
We show that for every $n\geq 2$ and any $ >0$ there exists a compact hyperbolic $n$-manifold with a closed geodesic of length less than $ $. When $ $ is sufficiently small these manifolds are non-arithmetic, and they are obtained by a generalised inbreeding construction which was first suggested by Agol for $n=4$. We also show that for $n\geq 3$

Systoles and kissing numbers of finite area hyperbolic surfaces [PDF]
We study the number and the length of systoles on complete finite area orientable hyperbolic surfaces. In particular, we prove upper bounds on the number of systoles that a surface can have (the so-called kissing number for hyperbolic surfaces). Our main

STUDY OF THE DIFFERENCES IN THE ARTERIAL BLOOD PRESSURE VALUES IN HEALTHY PEOPLE MEASURED SIMULTANEOUSLY ON LEFT AND RIGHT ARMS [PDF]
Arterial blood pressure measurement constitutes a fundamental aspect of nursing practice. The clinical significance of this measurement lies in its ability to assess systolic and diastolic blood pressure, which serve as crucial indicators of ...

New records of seed-feeding and parasitic chalcid wasps of the family Eurytomidae (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) from Iran [PDF]
Seventeen species of three genera, Bruchophagus Ashmead, 1888; Eurytoma Illiger, 1807 and Systole Walker, 1832 (Hymenoptera: Eurytomidae) were reared from 25 plant species collected in rangelands of Qom province in Iran during 2011–2017.

Rancang Bangun Alat Ukur Ankle Brachial Indeks Untuk Deteksi Peripheral Artery Disease
—ABI measurements are performed to detect PAD. ABI measurements are essential because, generally, patients are not aware of having PAD due to no significant signs and symptoms.

Interactions between visceral afferent signaling and stimulus processing [PDF]
Visceral afferent signals to the brain influence thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Here we highlight the findings of a set of empirical investigations in humans concerning body-mind interaction that focus on how feedback from states of autonomic arousal ...
