Changes in left ventricular electromechanical relations during targeted hypothermia
Background Targeted hypothermia, as used after cardiac arrest, increases electrical and mechanical systolic duration. Differences in duration of electrical and mechanical systole are correlated to ventricular arrhythmias.

Cardiac Electromechanical Activity in Healthy Cats and Cats with Cardiomyopathies
Optimal heart function depends on perfect synchronization between electrical and mechanical activity. In this pilot study, we aimed to investigate the electromechanical activity of the heart in healthy cats and cats with cardiomyopathy with ...

Random regular graphs and the systole of a random surface [PDF]
We study the systole of a random surface, where by a random surface we mean a surface constructed by randomly gluing together an even number of triangles.

Metaphors in Systolic Geometry [PDF]
This is an expository essay about systolic geometry. It describes a central theorem in the subject and why the proof is difficult. Then it discusses different metaphors which suggest ways to approach the problem. The metaphors connect the systolic inequality to minimal surfaces, topological dimension, scalar curvature, and hyperbolic geometry.

Growth of the Weil-Petersson inradius of moduli space [PDF]
In this paper we study the systole function along Weil-Petersson geodesics. We show that the square root of the systole function is uniformly Lipschitz on Teichm\"uller space endowed with the Weil-Petersson metric.

Systolic and Hyper-Systolic Algorithms for the Gravitational N-Body Problem, with an Application to Brownian Motion [PDF]
A systolic algorithm rhythmically computes and passes data through a network of processors. We investigate the performance of systolic algorithms for implementing the gravitational N-body problem on distributed-memory computers. Systolic algorithms minimize memory requirements by distributing the particles between processors.

Abstract Purpose Cardiac motion may degrade dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation using the CyberKnife system, a robotic radiosurgery system. This study evaluated the dose distribution changes using a self‐made cardiac dynamic platform that mimics cardiac motion. Methods The cardiac dynamic platform was operated with amplitudes
