Rotating Frame Spin‐Lock Cardiac MRI Method at 9.4 T Can Characterize Diffuse Fibrosis in Progressing Hypertensive Heart Disease in Mice

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to investigate the applicability of rotating frame spin‐lock continuous wave (CW) T1ρ and relaxation along a fictitious field with Rank 2 (RAFF2) methods complementary to native T1 and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) for cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) of diffuse fibrosis in mice with advancing hypertensive

Fidget and Sensory Toys for Anxiety and Emotional Regulation in Children: A Scoping Review With Implications for Pediatric Perioperative Care

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, EarlyView.
Summary of the scoping review on fidget and sensory toys for childhood anxiety. ABSTRACT Background Non‐pharmacological interventions are essential to reduce procedural anxiety in pediatric care. Fidget and sensory toys are widely used for distraction and self‐regulation, yet evidence on their effectiveness remains fragmented.

Modeling of Disease Progression of Type 2 Diabetes Using Real‐World Data: Quantifying Competing Risks of Morbidity and Mortality

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 606-615, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a progressive metabolic disorder that could be an underlying cause of long‐term complications that increase mortality. The assessment of the probability of such events could be essential for mortality risk management. This work aimed to establish a framework for risk predictions of macrovascular complications (MVC) and

Cardiorespiratory instability during sleep in infants: Physiological and developmental consequences

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
Abstract During fetal life, autonomic control of the cardio‐respiratory system undergoes rapid maturation and this continues after birth during the first year of life. This underlying immaturity of cardio‐respiratory control leads to an increased risk of cardio‐respiratory instabilities and resultant hypoxaemia during infancy.

Chronic Disease and Disability in the United States: Trends, Inequities, and Imperatives for Policy Reform

open access: yesThe Milbank Quarterly, EarlyView.
Policy Points Position Universal, High‐Quality Education as a Foundational Public Health Strategy. Long‐term health and life expectancy in the United States are shaped more by educational attainment than by any other single factor. Disparities in access to early childhood, K‐12, and higher education perpetuate cycles of chronic disease, economic ...
