On the importance of shelter availability for reptiles provided by burrow‐digging ecosystem engineers: A systematic review and a case study

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, EarlyView.
In this article, we show that ground burrows influenced reptile populations inconsistently across both the 5‐year field study in the Kiskunság and the broader systematic review, which together revealed positive, negative, and neutral effects across species and habitat types.

Long‐term stability of vertical bone augmentation in implant dentistry: A domain‐based review

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Vertical ridge deficiency remains one of the most challenging conditions in preimplant surgery. Several techniques aim to restore lost vertical alveolar height, each with specific indications and limitations. Although these procedures often yield favorable short‐term outcomes with stable bone levels, their long‐term performance is ...

The ultrarapid delayed rectifier potassium current has important functional role in the repolarization reserve of canine and human ventricular muscle

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The ultrarapid delayed rectifier potassium current (IKur) has long been considered an atrial‐specific current with no functional role in the ventricles, despite evidence of its expression in ventricular myocytes. In the present study we challenged this prevailing concept and investigated the potential role of IKur in ventricular ...

Note on PI and Szeged indices

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling, 2010
In theoretical chemistry molecular structure descriptors are used for modeling physico-chemical, pharmacological, toxicologic, biological and other properties of chemical compounds. In this paper we study distance-based graph invariants and present some improved and corrected sharp inequalities for PI, vertex PI, Szeged and edge Szeged topological ...

Old dog, new trick: Charybdotoxin as a novel ryanodine receptor blocker

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The peptide toxin charybdotoxin (ChTx) from the scorpion Leiurus quinquestriatus was tested on single‐channel currents of the ryanodine receptor incorporated into planar lipid bilayers. The structure–function relationship of ChTx was investigated using toxin variants generated by isosteric substitutions of the basic amino acids ...

Reaction–Diffusion and Diffusion‐Driven Fronts in Reversible Redox Autocatalytic Networks

open access: yesChemSystemsChem, Volume 8, Issue 5, September 2026.
In addition to the autocatalytic reaction–diffusion oxidation front and the diffusive reduction front, a mixed‐type diffusion‐driven reduction front develops in the presence of oxygen, exhibiting characteristics of both front types. ABSTRACT Autocatalysis plays a critical role in the self‐organization of chemical and biological systems, influencing ...

The characteristics of finding employment abroad in case of the Szeged tourism human resources (Szeged, Hungary) [PDF]

open access: yesTurizam, 2014
Human work provided for tourists is an indispensible element and, in a sense, the very soul of tourism services, and its quality highly influences what image is formed of the travel.
