Stable Isotope Analysis as a Tool to Prevent Illicit Wildlife Trade of Songbirds in Brazil
Feather isotopes provide clear differences between wild and captive songbirds in Brazil. Combining multiple isotopes improved classification accuracy and revealed individuals falsely declared as captive‐bred. These results demonstrate the potential of isotope analysis to detect wildlife laundering in the bird trade.

Abstract Cingulata, a major lineage of Xenarthra, comprises extinct and extant armoured placental mammals that diversified throughout the Cenozoic. Despite extensive study, phylogenetic hypotheses based on morphological and molecular data remain incongruent, and no total evidence analysis has been conducted. Emerging applications of large language models in ecology and conservation science
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) mark a major development in artificial intelligence, with potentially transformative implications for ecology and conservation science. Built on advanced deep‐learning architectures, these models can support a wide range of tasks. We reviewed emerging applications of LLMs, drawing on the wider scientific literature

The obsolescence of protected area categories in a polycrisis world
Abstract Current global conservation models face significant limitations in addressing the global polycrisis, and the constraints of the International Union for Conservation of Nature protected area (PA) classification system are part of the issue. The principles of the new conservation paradigm—governance, equity, and interculturality—are not viable ...
