Clinical Profiles and In-Hospital Outcomes of Pre-Existing Versus Newly Diagnosed Atrial Fibrillation in Coronary Care Units: Insights From the MORCOR-TURK National Registry. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Arrhythm
MORCOR‐TURK National Registry Study: In Turkish coronary care units, newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation, compared with pre‐existing AF, is associated with a higher inflammatory burden (CRP 28.4 vs. 12.6 mg/L), elevated NT‐proBNP levels, and approximately double the in‐hospital mortality (12.0% vs. 6.8%).

Anesthesia Management in a Crisponi Syndrome Patient Undergoing Tracheotomy Surgery. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Pediatr
Increased salivation and contractions of the oropharyngeal muscles are frequently observed in Crisponi syndrome. This causes frequent recurrent lung infections. Anesthesia management can be challenging due to the frequent convulsions that occur during the intubation and extubation of the patient and subsequent cyanosis and hyperthermia attacks.

Relationship Between Thoracic CT Severity Score and Scadding Staging With PFT, DLCO, and 6MWT in Patients With Sarcoidosis. [PDF]

open access: yesCan Respir J
Background Chest computed tomography (CT) is widely used in the diagnosis and follow‐up of diffuse parenchymal lung diseases like sarcoidosis. This study investigated the relationship between the Thoracic CT Severity Score (TCTSS) and parameters from pulmonary function tests (PFTs), diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO), and the 6‐min walk test

Trait evolution during a rapid global weed invasion despite little genetic differentiation

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 997-1011, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Invasive species often possess a great capacity to adapt to novel environments in the form of spatial trait variation, as a result of varying selection regimes, genetic drift, or plasticity. We explored the geographic differentiation in several phenotypic traits related to plant growth, reproduction, and defense in the highly invasive ...

The First Chalcone Derivatives of Valine-Based Spiro-Cyclotriphosphazenes: In Vitro Cytotoxic Properties, Molecular Docking and DNA Damage Mechanism Studies. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biochem Mol Toxicol
This study synthesizes and evaluates hybrid cyclotriphosphazene compounds for cancer treatment. The compounds exhibited significant cytotoxicity and genotoxicity against A2780 and Caco‐2 cell lines, inducing DNA damage and apoptosis, with molecular docking suggesting their potential as targeted inhibitors for cancer therapy.

Long‐Term Sebelipase Alfa Treatment in Children and Adults With Lysosomal Acid Lipase Deficiency

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Volume 74, Issue 6, Page 757-764, June 2022., 2022
ABSTRACT Objectives: Sebelipase alfa is approved for treatment of lysosomal acid lipase deficiency (LAL‐D). This single‐arm, open‐label study (NCT02112994) evaluated sebelipase alfa efficacy and safety in patients with LAL‐D. Methods: Patients >8 months of age diagnosed with LAL‐D received sebelipase alfa 1.0 mg/kg by intravenous infusion every other ...
