Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Renal Cell Carcinoma Metastasis to Esophagus 45 Years After Nephrectomy: A Case Report
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a common malignancy, often discovered incidentally with abdominal imaging modalities. Metastasis of RCC to the esophagus is extremely rare. In this case, a patient presented with melena and dysphagia and was found to have an

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Scaling of Microbubble Generation in a T-junction
Microbubble generation in a microfluidic T-junction was investigated in the context of artificial nuclei seeding of hydrodynamic facilities. Microbubble size distribution and production rate were investigated for a range of air, water and outlet ...

GEN1 from a thermophilic fungus is functionally closely similar to non-eukaryotic junction-resolving enzymes [PDF]
Processing of Holliday junctions is essential in recombination. We have identified the gene for the junction-resolving enzyme GEN1 from the thermophilic fungus Chaetomium thermophilum, and expressed the N-terminal 487 amino acid section. The protein is a

CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
