Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Influence of Terahertz Waves on Unidirectional Carbon Fibers in CFRP Composite Materials

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2014
Terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz TDS) system based on the reflective and through-transmission modes was utilized. Influence of terahertz waves (T-ray) on the fiber surface layups in the CFRP solid composites was studied.

A study on occlusal analysis by means of 'T-Scan system'. Part 1. Its accuracy for measurement.

open access: yesNihon Hotetsu Shika Gakkai Zasshi, 1989
The T-Scan system which was developed by Dr. W.L. Maness in 1987 is a new computerized device which can analyze time and force of occlusal contacts. It has potential to analyze occlusal contacts quantitatively. The purpose of this study is to investigate its accuracy for measurement as quantitative analysis device.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Digital Occlusion Tracking by T-Scan Novus System in Bruxism Patients Treated With 3D Printed Occlusal Splints

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dentistry
Conclusion: The digital design of occlusal splints facilitates the development of uniform contact areas across the entire occlusal surface. Nonetheless, the examination with T-Scan Novus unveiled that uniformity in contact area does not necessarily ...
