Disease control in oilseed rape: Current insights and perspectives for next‐generation integrated pest management

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Winter oilseed rape in Europe suffers frequent pathogen losses. This review outlines key integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, rotation, residue and tillage management, optimized sowing, resistance, and targeted fungicides supported by forecasting.

Effect of fungicides and Trichoderma harzianum on sclerotia of Sclerotium rolfsii

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2001
The effect of three fungicides (benomyl, hymexazol, oxyquinoleine) on the viability of sclerotia of Sclerotium rolfsii was tested in natural and sterilized soils.

Combined application of Bacillus velezensis JDB15 and Trichoderma harzianum JDL4 suppresses banana Fusarium wilt under controlled conditions

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
The surfactin C secreted by JDB15 and the probable parasitism of JDL4 lead to the leakage of intracellular macromolecules and the degradation of hyphae, respectively. Combined application of the two strains effectively controls banana Fusarium wilt under controlled conditions.

Arbuscular Mycorrhizae-Trichoderma harzianum (Moniliaceae) Interaction and Effects on Brachiaria decumbens (Poaceae)’s Growth

open access: yesActa Biológica Colombiana, 2006
The laboratory trial was made using native's Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) sampled in Pennisetum clandestinum's rhizospheric soil obtained from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá).

Discovery of a cryptic aminoacidic triad involved in the temperature adaptation of GH1 enzymes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Cold‐active enzymes retain high catalytic activity at low temperatures but are characterized by thermal instability, a behavior not fully understood. Comparison between a cold‐active GH1 and its mesophilic counterparts highlights the role of a three‐residue motif (W‐M‐F) in conferring structural stability to a mesophilic GH1.

Engineered Yarrowia lipolytica inducing gene silencing confers control ability against gray mold in plants

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Engineered the plant‐colonizing yeast Yarrowia lipolytica to produce and deliver double‐stranded RNAs targeting key genes of the gray mold fungus Botrytis cinerea produced a ‘living factory’ that continuously synthesizes and releases gene‐silencing molecules on plant surfaces, effectively suppressing the pathogen.

Trichoderma endophyticum, T. asperellum, and T. harzianum suppress charcoal rot in soybean seeds infected by Macrophomina phaseolina

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Plant Pathology
Abstract Soybean is one of the most important commodities in the world and is affected by several phytopathogens, such as the fungus Macrophomina phaseolina , which can occur at all stages of development, causing significant production losses.

Leaf Structure and Hormonal Balance Modulate Host‐Specificity and Pathogenicity of Botrytis cinerea

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Botrytis cinerea, a highly successful necrotrophic fungal plant pathogen, demonstrates a remarkably broad host range, yet the precise factors governing its host specificity and its ability to coexist non‐pathogenically with plants remain unclear. This study systematically assessed host preference in a series of B. cinerea agricultural isolates,

Synergic interactions between Trichoderma and the soil microbiomes improve plant iron availability and growth

open access: yesnpj Biofilms and Microbiomes
Iron bioavailability is often limited especially in calcareous soils. Trichoderma harzianum strongly improves plant iron uptake and growth in calcareous soils. However, little is known about the mechanisms by which T.
