The highway code of T cell trafficking [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, 2007
AbstractCoordinated migratory events are required for the development of effective and regulated immunity. Naïve T lymphocytes are programmed to recirculate predominantly in secondary lymphoid tissue by non‐specific stimuli. In contrast, primed T cells must identify specific sites of antigen location in non‐lymphoid tissue to exert targeted effector ...

Non-restrictive MDS Array Codes for Correcting Multiple Column Erasures

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 2004
A new family of MDS array codes of size m × n, that we call Br (m, n, t), for correcting multiple column erasures is proposed. Br(m, n, t) codes achieve the maximum possible correcting capability, i.e., they are MDS codes with dmin = r + 1.

Graph-Based Codes and Iterative Decoding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The field of error correcting codes was revolutionized by the introduction of turbo codes in 1993. These codes demonstrated dramatic performance improvements over any previously known codes, with significantly lower complexity.

Some New Classes of Entanglement-Assisted Quantum MDS Codes Derived From Constacyclic Codes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Although quantum maximal-distance-separable (MDS) codes that satisfy the quantum singleton bound have become an important research topic in the quantum coding theory, it is not an easy task to search for quantum MDS codes with the minimum distance that ...

Drug overdose in the ED: a record linkage study examining emergency department ICD-10 coding practices in a cohort of people who inject drugs

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research, 2018
Background Drug overdose is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity amongst people who inject drugs (PWID). Drug overdose surveillance typically relies on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) coding system, however its real world ...

The linear codes of t-designs held in the Reed-Muller and Simplex codes [PDF]

open access: yesCryptography and Communications, 2021
A fascinating topic of combinatorics is $t$-designs, which have a very long history. The incidence matrix of a $t$-design generates a linear code over GF$(q)$ for any prime power $q$, which is called the linear code of the $t$-design over GF$(q)$. On the other hand, some linear codes hold $t$-designs for some $t \geq 1$. The purpose of this paper is to

Locally Repairable Codes Based on Permutation Cubes and Latin Squares

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The importance of Locally Repairable Codes (LRCs) lies on their applications in distributed storage systems (DSSs). There are two approaches to repair multiple failed nodes: the parallel approach, in which a set of failed nodes are simultaneously ...

Stabilizer Codes and Quantum Error Correction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Controlling operational errors and decoherence is one of the major challenges facing the field of quantum computation and other attempts to create specified many-particle entangled states.

Morphing Quantum Codes

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2022
We introduce a morphing procedure that can be used to generate new quantum codes from existing quantum codes. In particular, we morph the 15-qubit Reed-Muller code to obtain a [[10,1,2]] code that is the smallest-known stabilizer code with a fault ...
