Investigating Possible Binarity for GJ 229B

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
GJ 229B, the first type-T brown dwarf to be discovered, has presented a tension between comparisons with evolutionary models and the larger-than-expected mass and radius values derived from spectroscopic and astrometric observations.

Discovery of 11 New T Dwarfs in the Two Micron All-Sky Survey, Including a Possible L/T Transition Binary [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.J.134:1162-1182,2007, 2007
We present the discovery of 11 new T dwarfs, found during the course of a photometric survey for mid-to-late T dwarfs in the 2MASS Point Source Catalog and from a proper motion selected sample of ultracool dwarfs in the 2MASS Working Database. Using the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility SpeX spectrograph, we obtained low-resolution (R~150) spectroscopy,

Popular political attitudes in Samoa: Findings of the Pacific Attitudes Survey

open access: yesAsia &the Pacific Policy Studies, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 408-429, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Popular political attitudes surveys have been conducted globally for several decades, but the Pacific region remains an exception. This paper presents the findings of the first Pacific Attitudes Survey (PAS), conducted in Samoa from December 2020‐January 2021.

L and T dwarfs in the Hyades and Ursa Major moving groups [PDF]

open access: yesMon.Not.Roy.Astron.Soc.Lett.378:L24-L28,2007, 2007
We have used the moving cluster method to identify three L dwarfs and one T dwarf in the Ursa Major/Sirius moving group (age 400 Myr). Five L dwarfs and two T dwarfs are found to belong to the Hyades moving group (age 625 Myr). These L and T dwarfs define 400- and 625- Myr empirical isochrones, assuming that they have the same age.

Embryonic cranial cartilage defects in the Fgfr3Y367C/+ mouse model of achondroplasia

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Achondroplasia, the most common chondrodysplasia in humans, is caused by one of two gain of function mutations localized in the transmembrane domain of fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) leading to constitutive activation of FGFR3 and subsequent growth plate cartilage and bone defects.

Periodic Radio Emission from the T8 Dwarf WISE J062309.94–045624.6

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
We present the detection of rotationally modulated, circularly polarized radio emission from the T8 brown dwarf WISE J062309.94−045624.6 between 0.9 and 2.0 GHz.

Extending the Canada-France Brown Dwarf Survey to the near infrared

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2011
We present the first results of the Canada-France Brown Dwarfs Survey-InfraRed, hereafter CFBDSIR, our near infrared extension to the optical wide field survey CFBDS.

The ultracool eld dwarfs luminosity function from the Canada-France Brown Dwarf Survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Canada-France Brown Dwarf Survey is a wide eld survey for cool brown dwarfs conducted with the MegaCam camera on the CFHT telescope. Our objectives are to nd ultracool brown dwarfs and to constrain the eld brown dwarf mass function from a large and homogeneous sample of L and T dwarfs.

On the lithium abundance of the visual binary components ξ Boo A (G8V) and ξ Boo B (K5V)

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 343, Issue 9-10, November-December 2022., 2022
Abstract A spectroscopic investigation of the lithium resonance doublet in ξ Boo A and ξ Boo B in terms of both abundance and isotopic ratio is presented. We obtained new R = 130,000 spectra with a signal‐to‐noise ratio (S/N) per pixel of up to 3200 using the 11.8 m LBT and PEPSI.

The 2MASS Wide-Field T Dwarf Search. IV Unting out T dwarfs with Methane Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present first results from a major program of methane filter photometry for low-mass stars and brown dwarfs. The definition of a new methane filter photometric system is described. A recipe is provided for the differential calibration of methane imaging data using existing 2MASS photometry.
