Constituents of tabebuia guayacan—II
Tetrahedron, 1976Abstract A unique oxalactone dibenzxanthone, guayin, has been isolated from the heartwood of T. guayacan and structurally identified. A biomimetic synthesis of the dihydro derivative of guayin, based upon the probable biosynthetic origin of guayin from the dibenzxanthene guayacanin, has been successfully achieved.

A revision of tabebuia (bignoniaceae) in Central America
Brittonia, 1970Six species are recognized, one of which,Tabebuia neochrysantha, is described as new. The species are delimited primarily on the basis of herbarium material, supplemented by field observation. A key is included, as well as distribution maps, and morphological, anatomical, and ecological data for each species.

Phytochemical investigation of Tabebuia palmeri
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2014Phytochemical investigation of the stems, flowers, and leaves of Tabebuia palmeri has led to the isolation of a novel compound, 6-(1-hydroxyundec-3-enyl)-tetrahydropyran-2-one, and 16 known compounds, viz. 1-hexadecanol, 1-triacontanol, stigmast-5-en-3β-ol, 2-hydroxy-3-(3-methylbut-2-enyl)-1,4-naphthoquinone (lapachol), methyl 3,4-dimethoxybenzoate, 2 ...

Furanonaphthoquinones from Tabebuia ochracea
Phytochemistry, 1991Abstract From the trunkwood of Tabebuia ochracea , β-sitosterol, cycloolivil, lapachol, and seven furanonaphthoquinones including the known 2-(1-hydroxyethyl)naphtho[2,3- b ]furan-4,9-quinone were isolated. The six new furanonaphthoquinones comprise three similar C 2 alcohol-ketone pairs at C-2 as proved by oxidations with pyridinium chlorochromate.

Iridoid Glycosides from Tabebuia avellanedae
Chemistry & Biodiversity, 2016Five novel iridoid glycosides, avellanedaesides A‐E (1 – 5) were isolated from the H2O extract of Tabebuia avellanedae. Their structures were determined on the basis of NMR and MS analysis. Isolated compounds suppressed inflammatory cytokine, tumor‐necrosis factor‐α and interleukin‐1β production in cultured human myeloma THP‐1 cells co‐stimulated with ...

Anti-inflammatory constituents from Tabebuia avellanedae
Fitoterapia, 2012Five novel compounds were isolated from the water extract of Tabebuia avellanedae, and their structures were established by analysis of NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Compounds 1-5 at 25μM showed strong inhibitory activity on the inflammatory cytokine, tumor-necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β production in cultured human myeloma THP-1 cells ...
