Atrioventricular nodal reentry is a commonly recognized mechanism of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in adults, but is only rarely documented in the first year of life. The aim of this study was to elucidate characteristics, management, and outcome in infants with atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT).

Catheter ablation is the preferred management approach for atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT). Cryothermal ablation (Cryo) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) are the two clinically available ablation modalities. Atrioventricular (AV) block is a concerning potential complication and is commonly preceded by transient AV block or rapid ...

In some patients with documented atrioventricular (AV) nodal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), the arrhythmia is not inducible during a standard stimulation protocol. In these patients the level of sympathetic activity may be an important factor. This study evaluates the influence of isoproterenol on anterograde and retrograde pathway properties in ...

Atrioventricular-nodal-reentry tachycardia (AVNRT) is a form of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) that is relatively common in the emergency department (ED). It is rarely indicative of underlying electrical or structural pathology. This review evaluates the literature and controversies concerning treatment of AVNRT in the ED.For treatment of narrow ...

The occurrence of eccentric retrograde atrial activation has been demonstrated to be from 6 to 8% in patients with atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) by several previous reports. However, most of those reports were limited by the absence of coronary sinus venography to confirm if the retrograde activation was truly left sided.

Atrioventricular Nodal Reentry Tachycardia: Slow Pathway Ablation Using the Transseptal Approach
Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2000Four hundred twenty consecutive patients with symptomatic slow/fast atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia had attempted slow pathway radio frequency ablation. All patients had successful slow pathway ablation and no inducible tachycardia after ablation using the standard rightâsided approach except for three patients.

[Incessant supraventricular tachycardia due to upper atrioventricular nodal reentry].
Journal of cardiology, 1989Three patients with recurrent supraventricular tachycardia were presented. Atrial cycle length unchanged during the tachycardia with antegrade Wenckebach AH block was observed. When AH block occurred during tachycardia, the first AH interval was shorter than the subsequent one.

Induction of atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia with intravenous adenosine.
Singapore medical journal, 2007Adenosine, used to terminate paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), is often useful in understanding the mechanism of tachycardia. This case report describes induction of SVT with adenosine in a 36-year-old man presenting with recurrent palpitations.

[Catheter ablation of accessory pathways and atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia].
Zeitschrift fur Kardiologie, 2000Radiofrequency current catheter ablation has gained acceptance as primary long-term therapy for patients with symptomatic accessory pathways and symptomatic atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) with frequent recurrences. In both arrhythmias, curative treatment is possible in more than 90% of cases at a low complication rate although an ...
