Remote Activation of Spinal TRPV1 by Magnetic Nanocubes Confers Cardioprotection Against Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe‐based magnetic nanocubes conjugated with TRPV1 antibodies (FeNCs‐TRPV1) are developed for the specific targeting of TRPV1 channels. Intraspinally injected FeNCs‐TRPV1 induces TRPV1 desensitization in rats exposed to repetitive and transient ACMF.

Knockdown of Inhibitory Guanine Nucleotide Binding Protein Giα‐2 by Antisense Oligodeoxynucleotides Attenuates the Development of Hypertension and Tachycardia in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2016
BackgroundWe previously showed that the levels of both Giα‐2 and Giα‐3 proteins were augmented in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) before the onset of hypertension.

Idiopathic Fascicular Ventricular Tachycardia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Idiopathic fascicular ventricular tachycardia is an important cardiac arrhythmia with specific electrocardiographic features and therapeutic options. It is characterized by relatively narrow QRS complex and right bundle branch block pattern. The QRS axis

Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia in cardiac sarcoidosis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A 73-year-old man with history of pulmonary sarcoidosis was found to have runs of non-sustained bidirectional ventricular tachycardia (BVT) with two different QRS morphologies on a Holter monitor.

Synthetic Electrocardiogram Spectrogram Generation Using Generative Adversarial Network‐Based Models: A Comparative Study

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Cardiovascular diseases are leading death causes; electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis is slow, motivating machine learning and deep learning. This study compares deep convolutional generative adversarial network, conditional GAN, and Wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty (WGAN‐GP) for synthetic ECG spectrograms; Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) and ...

Not a Quiet Place: Understanding Noise Level in a Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Its Relation with Newborn’s Vital Parameters, a Pilot Feasibility Study

open access: yesChildren
Background/Objectives: Adaptation to extrauterine life is challenging for preterm newborns. Environmental stimuli, such as noise, can lead to adverse health outcomes, causing instability of vital parameters and impairment of neurodevelopment.

GABA\u3csub\u3eA\u3c/sub\u3e and excitatory amino acid receptors in dorsomedial hypothalamus and heart rate in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
We have previously shown that microinjection of drugs that interfere with the function of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) into the hypothalamus produces cardiorespiratory and behavioral changes resembling those seen in ...

Long‐Term Outcomes of Reduced Intensity Conditioning Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation for Systemic Sclerosis Patients with Impaired Cardiac Function

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective High intensity conditioning autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) is standard of care for patients with advanced SSc. The role of reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) prior to AHSCT in this population remains unclear. We conducted this study to determine the long‐term outcomes of RIC AHSCT in SSc patients with cardiac ...

Cryothermal Energy Ablation Of Cardiac Arrhythmias 2005: State Of The Art [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
At the time of antiarrhythmic surgery, cryothermal energy application by a hand-held probe was used to complement dissections and resections and permanently abolish the arrhythmogenic substrate.
