A quark action for very coarse lattices
We investigate a tree-level O(a^3)-accurate action, D234c, on coarse lattices. For the improvement terms we use tadpole-improved coefficients, with the tadpole contribution measured by the mean link in Landau gauge.

Abstract Scientists have been captivated by the ability to regenerate, focusing on uncovering the mechanisms of epimorphic regeneration and applying them to human medicine. The axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) has become the most intensively studied model in tetrapod regeneration research, particularly concerning limb regeneration.

Gauge-independent Renormalization of the 2-Higgs-Doublet Model [PDF]
The 2-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) belongs to the simplest extensions of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs sector that are in accordance with theoretical and experimental constraints. In order to be able to properly investigate the experimental Higgs data and,

Abstract Background To understand cellular morphology, biologists have relied on traditional optical microscopy of tissues combined with tissue clearing protocols to image structures deep within tissues. Unfortunately, these protocols often struggle to retain cell boundary markers, especially at high enough resolutions necessary for precise cell ...

The Heavy Quark Self-Energy in Nonrelativistic Lattice QCD
The heavy quark self-energy in nonrelativistic lattice QCD is calculated to $O(\alpha_s)$ in perturbation theory. An action which includes all spin-independent relativistic corrections to order $v^2$, where $v$ is the typical heavy quark velocity, and ...

Feynman rules for string field theories with discrete target space [PDF]
We derive a minimal set of Feynman rules for the loop amplitudes in unitary models of closed strings, whose target space is a simply laced (extended) Dynkin diagram.

Role of SoxE transcription factors in development and disease
Abstract Sox8, Sox9, and Sox10 arose by multiple rounds of genome duplications from a single SoxE gene in ancestral vertebrates. In this review, we will briefly discuss the molecular structure and function of SoxE transcription factors and their evolutionary origin. We will then discuss their expression, function, and developmental disorders.

The diving beetle Hydaticus bowringii Clark, 1864 (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) is on the Red List of Japan as 'Near Threatened'. However, there is no quantitative information on the feeding habits of its larvae, which could be used to aid its conservation ...

The D234 action for light quarks
We investigate a new light fermion action (the ``D234'' action), which is accurate up to $\O(a^3)$ and tadpole-improved $\O(a \alpha_s)$ errors. Using D234 with Symanzik- and tadpole-improved glue we find evidence that continuum results for the quenched ...
