Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1967 SummaryMammalian prolactin inhibits thyroxin-induced resorption of the tail in Rana catesbeiana tadpoles. Mammalian growth hormone does not show this effect. The possible importance of prolactin as a larval growth hormone in amphibians is emphasized.

The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.Adult ascidians are capable of regenerating their entire brains following injury, and glycosaminoglycans have been shown to either promote or inhibit neuritogenesis. In this study, dermatan 2,6‐disulfate (D2,6S) was identified as the predominant complex carbohydrate in the ascidian brain.
