A NEW INSIGHT INTO THE TAGUCHI METHOD

Quality Assurance, 2002
To obtain high quality products at low cost and in a short time is an economical and technological challenge to today's engineering community. Design of Experiments based on the Taguchi approach is a powerful technique to attain this objective. In some processes, it is necessary to consider not only two factors but also the ratio of their levels 'as a ...

The Taguchi method

WIREs Computational Statistics, 2011
AbstractAchieving robustness in product and process designs is of importance to various stakeholders such as manufacturers, suppliers, and consumers. As variability exists in all operations, it is desirable to create products and processes that are not very sensitive to factors that are not controllable.

Applying Taguchi methods to health care

Leadership in Health Services, 2006
PurposeThe aim of this article is to show how Taguchi methods can be applied to health care.Design/methodology/approachThe quadratic loss function is at the heart of Taguchi methods. It is a powerful motivator for a quality strategy and can be used to adequately model the loss to society in health care.

An observation on taguchi methods

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 1989
AbstractA Taguchi example is used in this note to look at statistical significance under assumptions that may not hold true in a given experiment. I also make a case for including physical reasoning in the experimental process as a way to help in making close calls and to help avoid pitfalls.

Taguchi's Idle Column Method

Technometrics, 1991
The idle column method, proposed by Taguchi, enables a two-level orthogonal array to be used as the basis of a mixed-level fractional factorial experiment. The resulting designs are not orthogonal but can in some circumstances be described as nearly orthogonal.
