A Gradient Taguchi Method for Engineering Optimization
To balance the robustness and the convergence speed of optimization, a novel hybrid algorithm consisting of Taguchi method and the steepest descent method is proposed in this work. Taguchi method using orthogonal arrays could quickly find the optimum combination of the levels of various factors, even when the number of level and/or factor is quite ...

OPTIMIZATION OF ORTHOPAEDIC DRILLING: A TAGUCHI APPROACH
Bone drilling is a common procedure to prepare an implant site during orthopaedic surgery. An increase in temperature during such a procedure can result in thermal ostenecrosis which may delay healing or reduce the stability of the fixation. Therefore it is important to minimize the thermal invasion of bone during drilling.

Convergent Evolution and De Novo Reconstitution of Apiin Biosynthesis
ABSTRACT Apiin, an active flavonoid apioside, occurs in phylogenetically distant plants, such as parsley and chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). Its sporadic distribution suggests the existence of convergent apiin biosynthesis; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying this convergence remain unclear.

Does Global Value Chain Participation Matter for Economic Upgrading? A Nonlinear Insight
ABSTRACT In recent decades, global value chains (GVCs) have come to dominate much of world trade. Participation in GVCs is widely regarded as a key driver of development by enabling countries to climb the value‐added ladder. However, tighter governance structures within GVCs can make these benefits uncertain.

The 31 mm POLARx FIT cryoballoon achieves significantly higher complete pulmonary vein occlusion rates than the 28 mm mode, particularly in superior veins. Larger PV diameter and higher ovality index independently predict incomplete occlusion, supporting pre‐procedural CT‐based anatomical assessment for individualized balloon size selection.
