Recognition of the 300-kDa Mannose 6-Phosphate Receptor Cytoplasmic Domain by 47-kDa Tail-Interacting Protein [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2000
Tail-interacting 47-kDa protein (TIP47) binds the cytoplasmic domains of the cation-dependent (CD) and cation-independent (CI) mannose 6-phosphate receptors (MPRs) and is required for their transport from endosomes to the Golgi complex. TIP47 recognizes a phenylalanine-tryptophan signal in the CD-MPR.

PAT family proteins pervade lipid droplet cores

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2005
The PAT family proteins, named after perilipin, adipophilin, and the tail-interacting protein of 47 kDa (TIP47), are implicated in intracellular lipid metabolism. They associate with lipid droplets, but how is completely unclear.

Adoption of PERILIPIN as a unifying nomenclature for the mammalian PAT-family of intracellular lipid storage droplet proteins

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2010
The PAT family of proteins has been identified in eukaryotic species as diverse as vertebrates, insects, and amebazoa. These proteins share a highly conserved sequence organization and avidity for the surfaces of intracellular, neutral lipid storage ...

Decrease in intramuscular lipid droplets and translocation of HSL in response to muscle contraction and epinephrine

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
A better understanding of skeletal muscle lipid metabolism is needed to identify the molecular mechanisms relating intramuscular triglyceride (IMTG) to muscle metabolism and insulin sensitivity.

Regulation of ADRP expression by long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids in BeWo cells, a human placental choriocarcinoma cell line

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
Transplacental transfer of maternal fatty acids is critical for fetal growth and development. In the placenta, a preferential uptake of fatty acids toward long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFAs) has been demonstrated.

PPARα activators and fasting induce the expression of adipose differentiation-related protein in liver

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
The adipose differentiation-related protein (ADFP)/adipophilin belongs to a family of PAT (for perilipin, ADFP, and TIP47) proteins that associate on the surface of lipid droplets (LDs). Except for LD association, a clear role for ADFP has not been found.

COPI complex is a regulator of lipid homeostasis.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2008
Lipid droplets are ubiquitous triglyceride and sterol ester storage organelles required for energy storage homeostasis and biosynthesis. Although little is known about lipid droplet formation and regulation, it is clear that members of the PAT (perilipin,

A dynamic, cytoplasmic triacylglycerol pool in enterocytes revealed by ex vivo and in vivo coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering imaging[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
The absorptive cells of the small intestine, enterocytes, are not generally thought of as a cell type that stores triacylglycerols (TGs) in cytoplasmic lipid droplets (LDs).

Adipocyte differentiation-related protein reduces the lipid droplet association of adipose triglyceride lipase and slows triacylglycerol turnovers⃞

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2007
Although neutral lipid storage droplets are ubiquitous in eukaryotic cells, very little is known about how their synthesis and turnover are controlled. Adipocyte differentiation-related protein (ADRP; also known as adipophilin) is found on the surface of

Cloning, chromosome mapping and expression pattern of porcine PLIN and M6PRBP1 genes

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 2008
The PAT proteins, named after the three PLIN/ADRP/TIP47 (PAT) proteins, PLIN for perilipin, ADRP for adipose differentiation-related protein and TIP47 for tail-interacting protein of 47 kDa, now officially named M6PRBP1 for mannose-6-phosphate receptor ...
