Application of 3D Raman Mapping on Complex Inclusions: A Case Study of the Styrian Basin Mantle Xenoliths (W‐Carpathian Pannonian Region)

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Recent advancements in spectral and spatial resolutions for Raman spectroscopy allow the analysis of fluid and melt inclusions. To explore the applicability of 3D Raman mapping, we conducted 3D Raman mapping on inclusions hosted by orthopyroxene in modally metasomatized mantle xenoliths from the Styrian Basin (W‐Carpathian Pannonian Region).

Malignant Pleural Effusion: Palliative Managements and Indication for Pleurodesis Based on Survival Scores

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neoplastic pleural effusion is one in which malignant neoplastic cells are detected in the pleural fluid or in the parietal pleura. When secondary, it confirms disseminated neoplastic disease and suggests a reduced life expectancy and low quality of life.

Poly(Butylene Adipate‐Co‐Terephthalate)/Silane‐Treated Wollastonite‐Based Blown Film for Sustainable Packaging Application: Studying the Impact of Uniaxial Stretching on the Final Properties

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT) films enhanced with silane‐treated wollastonite (S‐W) filler are innovatively developed using blown film extrusion followed by uniaxial stretching. This process led to remarkable improvements in the film's properties: tensile strength surged by ≈500%, and Young's modulus increased by 1000%.

The Cyclical Representation of the UK Conference Sector's Life Cycle: The Use of Refurbishments as Rejuvenation Triggers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC) model (Butler, 1980) is one of the most influential and frequently quoted tourism related lifecycle frameworks. Extensively applied and critiqued, it remains a cornerstone in tourism research.

Natural fiber‐reinforced light composites for the automotive industry

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
ATR‐FTIR analysis of the natural fibers and spiral‐flow test of the PP/natural fibers compounds. Abstract A European Directive on End‐of‐Life Vehicles (ELVs) established minimum reuse and recovery thresholds of automotive materials based on the weight of the vehicle, to improve fuel efficiency and therefore reduce the CO2 emissions. However, to replace

Effect of thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay on the characteristics of high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay compounded with high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites for injection moulding. Abstract This study focused on the performance evaluation of clay and thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fiber to reinforce low‐ and high‐density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE) biocomposites. A 23 factorial experiment was designed using

Dislocation density and graphitization of diamond crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Two sets of diamond specimens compressed at 2 GPa at temperatures varying between 1060 K and 1760 K were prepared; one in which graphitization was promoted by the presence of water and another in which graphitization of diamond was practically absent.

Talc-based cementitious products: Effect of talc calcination

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2015
AbstractThis study reports the use of calcined talc for cementitious products making. The calcination is used to enhance the availability of magnesium from talc to react with phosphate for cement phase formation. It is shown that previous calcination of talc leads to products having enhanced mechanical performance due to the formation of more cement ...
