Using Green, Economical, Efficient Two-Dimensional (2D) Talc Nanosheets as Lubricant Additives under Harsh Conditions

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials have attracted much attention for lubrication enhancement of grease. It is difficult to disperse nanosheets in viscous grease and the lubrication performances of grease under harsh conditions urgently need to be ...

Malignant Pleural Effusion: Palliative Managements and Indication for Pleurodesis Based on Survival Scores

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neoplastic pleural effusion is one in which malignant neoplastic cells are detected in the pleural fluid or in the parietal pleura. When secondary, it confirms disseminated neoplastic disease and suggests a reduced life expectancy and low quality of life.

Poly(Butylene Adipate‐Co‐Terephthalate)/Silane‐Treated Wollastonite‐Based Blown Film for Sustainable Packaging Application: Studying the Impact of Uniaxial Stretching on the Final Properties

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT) films enhanced with silane‐treated wollastonite (S‐W) filler are innovatively developed using blown film extrusion followed by uniaxial stretching. This process led to remarkable improvements in the film's properties: tensile strength surged by ≈500%, and Young's modulus increased by 1000%.

Pulmonary talcosis in the setting of cosmetic talcum powder use

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine Case Reports, 2021
Pulmonary talcosis is a rare pneumoconiosis that is difficult to diagnose and may progress to debilitating lung disease. Four types of talcosis are described in literature: talc-silicosis and talc-asbestosis secondary to inhalation in industry workers ...

Environmentally Friendly Blowing Agents for Producing Polyisocyanurate (PIR) Foams: Study of the Thermal Conductivity Aging and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
HFO leads to PIR foams with the lowest thermal conductivity after 7 years (30 days), being maintained in the foam cells for longer times. HFO constitutes a non‐flammable and environmentally sustainable alternative to replace the hazardous conventional foaming agents in these foams.

Effect of thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay on the characteristics of high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay compounded with high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites for injection moulding. Abstract This study focused on the performance evaluation of clay and thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fiber to reinforce low‐ and high‐density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE) biocomposites. A 23 factorial experiment was designed using
