The Depositional Setting of the Konkian Sediments of the Taman Peninsula
Moscow University Geology Bulletin, 2019The study of the Konkian sediments of the Taman Peninsula revealed that in the clays prevailing in the section there are the two types carbonate beds (benthic microbial and planktonogenic origin). These two types of carbonate sediments have different carbon and oxygen isotope composition.

Abstract Loess deposits are widely spread all over Eastern Europe, extending as far south as the Sea of Azov and the northern Black Sea. For many decades these regions have been noted for series of key sections. However, despite prolonged investigations, a lack of absolute dating and detailed lithological data has left many unresolved problems in the

Paleomagnetic research of the Upper Miocene sections of Taman Peninsula (Eastern Paratethys)
2022<p>Magnetostratigraphic studies currently play an important role in the dating of the Miocene sections of the Kerch-Taman region (Eastern Paratethys). The major goal of our work was the paleomagnetic and rock magnetic studies of the transient Sarmatian-Meotian deposits in order to estimate the relative age (pre- or postfolding) of the ...

A study of the Upper Miocene deposits on the Taman Peninsula revealed a new centric diatom Thalassiosira kozyrenkoae Kovaleva et Gogorev. The absence of findings of this species in the modern diatom flora suggests that it is extinct. The species was likely endemic for the Sea of Azov – the Black Sea basin.
