A Survey of Passive Image Tampering Detection
2009Digital images can be easily tampered with image editing tools. The detection of tampering operations is of great importance. Passive digital image tampering detection aims at verifying the authenticity of digital images without any a prior knowledge on the original images. There are various methods proposed in this filed in recent years. In this paper,

Detection and Restoration of a Tampered Medical Image
2004This paper presents a recoverable image tamper proofing technique using the symmetric key cryptosystem and vector quantization for detecting and restoring of a tampered medical image. Our scheme applies the one-way hashing function and the symmetric key cryptosystem to the host image to generate the verification data.

New Developments in Image Tampering Detection
2015Statistical feature-based pattern recognition approach has been proved to be useful in digital image forgery detection. In this paper, we first present this approach adopted in Phase 1 of the first IEEE IFS-TC Image Forensics Challenge, in which the task is to classify the tampered images from the original ones, together with the experimental results ...

Local tampering detection in video sequences
2013 IEEE 15th International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP), 2013Video sequences are often believed to provide stronger forensic evidence than still images, e.g., when used in lawsuits. However, a wide set of powerful and easy-to-use video authoring tools is today available to anyone. Therefore, it is possible for an attacker to maliciously forge a video sequence, e.g., by removing or inserting an object in a scene.

Tampering Detection and Restoration of Compressed Video
2018 15th International ISC (Iranian Society of Cryptology) Conference on Information Security and Cryptology (ISCISC), 2018This paper presents a method to detect tampering of video data and then restore an approximate version of its original contents in compressed H.264/AVC domain using watermarking. In the proposed scheme, a low resolution image from a number of video frames in certain time slots are embedded into the DCT coefficients of the other parts of the video which

Tamper Detection and Recovery on RGB Images
2020Special devices are required to perform tampering on an analogue image. This requires a serious cost and skill. But it is easy to tamper on a digital image. Digital images can be tampered even with easy accessible free digital image editing software. Moreover, this tampering can occur even with a mobile phone.

A signal detection theory approach for camera tamper detection
2017 14th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Video and Signal Based Surveillance (AVSS), 2017Camera tamper detection is the ability to detect faults and operational failures in video surveillance cameras by analyzing the video. Researchers have increasingly focused on such techniques attributing to the ubiquitous deployment of large scale surveillance systems.

Image tamper detection based on demosaicing artifacts
2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2009In this paper, we introduce tamper detection techniques based on artifacts created by Color Filter Array (CFA) processing in most digital cameras. The techniques are based on computing a single feature and a simple threshold based classifier. The efficacy of the approach was tested over thousands of authentic, tampered, and computer generated images ...

Detection of Tampering Inconsistencies on Mobile Photos
2011Fast proliferation of mobile cameras and the deteriorating trust on digital images have created needs in determining the integrity of photos captured by mobile devices. As tampering often creates some inconsistencies, we propose in this paper a novel framework to statistically detect the image tampering inconsistency using accurately detected ...
