TanDEM-X commissioning phase status [PDF]

open access: yes2010 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2010
After the recent launch of the TanDEM-X satellite, the twin of TerraSAR-X, its demanding commissioning phase has started. On the one hand, it has to ensure the same monostatic operation performance as TerraSAR-X. On the other hand, the bistatic aspects have to be verified, which are essential for the acquisition of the global digital elevation model ...

Investigating the Recent Surge in the Monomah Glacier, Central Kunlun Mountain Range with Multiple Sources of Remote Sensing Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Several glaciers in the Bukatage Massif are surge-type. However, previous studies in this region focused on glacier area and length changes, and more information is needed to support the deep analysis of glacier surge.

Landslide inventory validation and susceptibility mapping in the Gerecse Hills, Hungary

open access: yesGeo-spatial Information Science, 2021
Landslides pose a threat to property both in the populated and cultivated areas of the Gerecse Hills (Hungary). The currently available landslide inventory database holds the records from many sites in the area, but the database is out-of-date.

THE NEW TANDEM-X CHANGE DEM: SPECIFICATIONS AND INTERFEROMETRIC PROCESSING [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
Since 2017, the TanDEM-X mission aims to acquire data globally to generate another (updated) DEM. This new set of acquisitions, which will be complete in 2020, has a clear temporal separation from those used for the TanDEM-X global DEM. It will therefore

TanDEM-X: DEM Calibration Concept [PDF]

open access: yesIGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008
The TanDEM-X mission will derive a global digital elevation model (DEM) with satellite SAR interferometry. The aimed accuracies are an absolute height error of 10 m and a relative height error of 2 m for 90% of the data. This requires a correction of the elevation heights after interferometric processing by residual systematic DEM errors.

Paddy-Rice Monitoring Using TanDEM-X [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2015
This paper evaluates the potential of spaceborne bistatic interferometric SAR images for the monitoring of biophysical variables in wetlands, with a special interest on paddy rice. The assessment is made during the rice cultivation period, from transplanting to harvesting time (May to October) for fields around Gala lake (Turkey), one of the largest ...

Synergistic Use of Single-Pass Interferometry and Radar Altimetry to Measure Mass Loss of NEGIS Outlet Glaciers between 2011 and 2014

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Mass balances of individual glaciers on ice sheets have been previously reported by forming a mass budget of discharged ice and modelled ice sheet surface mass balance or a complementary method which measures volume changes over the glaciated area that ...

Monolithic Perovskite-Carrier Selective Contact Silicon Tandem Solar Cells Using Molybdenum Oxide as a Hole Selective Layer

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Monolithic perovskite–silicon tandem solar cells with MoOx hole selective contact silicon bottom solar cells show a power conversion efficiency of 8%. A thin 15 nm-thick MoOx contact to n-type Si was used instead of a standard p+ emitter to collect holes

DEM calibration concept for TanDEM-X [PDF]

open access: yes2007 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2007
The TanDEM-X mission [1] comprises two fully active synthetic aperture radar satellites operating in X-band. The primary goal of this mission is the derivation of a high-precision global Digital Elevation Model (DEM) according to HRTI level 3 quality [2]. This requires accurate calibration of the interferometric system parameters. Content of this paper

TOMOGRAPHIC SAR INVERSION FROM MIXED REPEAT- AND SINGLE-PASS DATA STACKS – THE TERRASAR-X/TANDEM-X CASE [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
This paper presents the first demonstration of high precision very high resolution tomographic SAR inversion with the assistance of TanDEM-X data. The data quality of TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X is investigated.
