Advances in Mixed Tin‐Lead Narrow‐Bandgap Perovskites for Single‐Junction and All‐Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells

Advances in Materials
Organic–inorganic metal‐halide perovskites have received great attention for photovoltaic (PV) applications owing to their superior optoelectronic properties and the unprecedented performance development. For single‐junction PV devices, although lead (Pb)

Photon tunneling in tandem solar cells

2015 IEEE 42nd Photovoltaic Specialist Conference (PVSC), 2015
We investigate the influence of surface texture on the effectiveness of reflectance by intermediate reflectors in thin-film tandem solar cells. Two distinct angular reflection regimes are identified. For large-angle textures, frustrated total internal reflection or photon tunneling is the dominating mechanism.

A Review of Perovskite/Copper Indium Gallium Selenide Tandem Solar Cells

Solar RRL
In recent years, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have emerged as a focal point for numerous researchers due to their excellent photoelectric performance. In comparison to their single‐junction devices, double‐junction cells have exhibited the potential for

Introduction to Tandem Solar Cells

2022
Photovoltaics has today become a mature industry and one of the main reasons of the tremendous growth in recent years is the continuous improvement in the performance and lifetime of PV modules. However, one of the main limitations in the improvement of the performance of commercialized PV devices is that the efficiency is getting closer and closer to ...

Tandem Organic Solar Cells with 21.5% Efficiency

Advanced Materials
Abstract Tandem organic solar cells (OSCs) offer a promising strategy for enhancing light utilization and reducing energy loss, presenting significant potential in achieving high power conversion efficiency (PCE). Herein, a narrow bandgap acceptor, BTA‐4F, featuring a 2‐methyl‐2H‐benzotriazole (BTA) central core, is fabricated, which ...

Power Matching of Tandem Solar Cells

2011
We show that the usual current matching condition for tandem solar cells is insufficient because the matching of the subcell currents minimizes the fill factor of the device. We introduce a new definition for the matching condition of tandem solar cells, i.e.
