Apery and micro-invariants of a one dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local ring and invariants of its tangent cone [PDF]
Given a one-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local ring we compare several sets of invariants (micro-invariants, Apery invariants and invariants of the tangent cone) and give explicit formulas relating them.

An equivalence of Finslerian relativistic theories
In Lorentz-Finsler geometry it is natural to define the Finsler Lagrangian over a cone (Asanov's approach) or over the whole slit tangent bundle (Beem's approach).

From Copper Nanoparticles to Alumina Encapsulated Porous Layers With Enhanced Mechanical Stability
This study analyzes the synthesis‐structure relation of individual Cu nanoparticles and highly porous nanoparticle‐based Cu films using different sputtering‐based nanoparticle sources. The inherent mechanical instability of the films is tackled with Al2O3 encapsulation through atomic layer deposition, enabling 4‐fold increase in critical force in ...

Explicit Free Resolutions of Tangent Cones in Affine 4-Space
This paper is devoted to the study of minimal free resolutions of tangent cones associated with complete intersection monomial curves in affine 4-space. By applying the gluing technique for numerical semigroups, we characterize specific families of these

An Evaluation of Ramp Control Signal Head Placement Based on Motorist's Cone of Visions
Roadside mounted ramp control signals have one upper head, and one lower head in California. The upper head is intended for use by the approaching motorists, while the lower one for use by the stopped motorists.

Scalable manufacturing challenges and limited potency remain two of the most intransigent issues limiting clinical translation of EV therapeutics. Mechanical cues can induce phenotypic changes and increased vesiculation in EV source cells without the use of extraneous reagents, chemicals, and/or cargo, thereby potentially drastically improving the ...

Idealistic exponents: Tangent cone, ridge, characteristic polyhedra [PDF]
We study Hironaka's idealistic exponents over $ \operatorname{Spec} ( \mathbb{Z} ) $. We give an idealistic interpretation of the tangent cone, the directrix, and the ridge. The main purpose is to introduce the notion of characteristic polyhedra of idealistic exponents and deduce from them intrinsic data on the idealistic exponent.
