How cold is too cold? A theoretical analysis of the optimal trigger for index insurance for frost damage to crops

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Crop insurance is undoubtedly an extremely valuable element in protecting agricultural businesses, but in many cases standard indemnity‐based products have had very low uptake due to high transaction costs elevating premiums to unaffordable levels.

Two‐Phase Nanofluid Flow in a Non‐Newtonian Model Past a Deformable Sheet With Magnetized Environmental Effects: Statistical Modeling and ANOVA Analysis

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a comprehensive numerical analysis of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Casson nanofluid movement over a permeable, linearly stretching sheet, integrating the contributions of non‐uniform heat generation or absorption and chemical interaction.

A critical reappraisal of the carotid sinus and carotid bulb: Distinguishing neurohistological function from vascular geometry

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
This review redefines the carotid bulb (CB) as a variable geometric dilation shaped by hemodynamics and the carotid sinus (CS) as a conserved neurohistological baroreceptor field. Distinguishing these entities clarifies a century of anatomical confusion and links geometry, neurohistology, and clinical interpretation within a unified framework ...

Previously undocumented regional variability in crab‐eating macaque skull sexual dimorphism and its implications for biological and morphometric studies

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract In a large sample of adult crab‐eating macaques, we quantified sexual dimorphism in size, shape, and covariance across the whole skull and among anatomical regions of the cranium and mandible. All regions showed significant mean sex differences, but the magnitude of size and shape dimorphism varied substantially.

Intelligent back-propagated neural networks to study nonlinear heat transfer in tangent-hyperbolic fluids

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
This paper presents a novel way to analyze unsteady flow and heat transfer in Magnetohydrodynamic Tangent-Hyperbolic Fluid (MHD-THF) flow over a stretching sheet that uses Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) optimized with the Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm (LMA).

Radial capacity and hemodynamics evaluation in vitro and implantable feasibility validation in vivo of thinner bioresorbable polymer vascular stents

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A series of in vitro experiments, numerical simulations and in vivo experiments were conducted to jointly evaluate the effects of different thicknesses of bioabsorbable polymer vascular stents on their radial capacity, hemodynamics and in vivo outcomes.

Numerical computation of tangent hyperbolic magnetohydrodynamic Darcy–Forchheimer Williamson hybrid nanofluid flow configuring variable thermal conductivity

open access: yesHybrid Advances
The current investigation delves into the tangent hyperbolic Williamson hybrid nanofluid flow featuring varying thermal conductivity through the Darcy–Forchheimer medium across an exponentially stretching cylinder. Incorporating the activation energy and

Molecular Dynamics Simulations of γ‐Belite(010)–Water Interfaces With High‐Dimensional Neural Network Potentials

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Several γ$\gamma$‐belite(010)–water interfaces have been studied by molecular dynamics simulations using a high‐dimensional neural network potential. The structure and reactivity of interfacial water have been analyzed and two types of surface defects could be identified, which indicate the possible existence of a wide range of surface structures ...
