Using Tangent Lines to Define Means

Mathematics Magazine, 2003
We found these results to be quite intriguing and wondered if other means could be generated in this way by using different functions. As it turns out, this idea can be applied to a wide class of functions and the locations of the corresponding points c exhibit a surprising degree of simplicity and elegance.

EXISTENCE OF AREA MINIMIZING TANGENT CONES OF INTEGRAL CURRENTS WITH PRESCRIBED MEAN CURVATURE

Acta Mathematica Scientia, 1995
In a previous paper [Manuscr. Math. 67, 41-67 (1990; Zbl 0703.49035)], the authors considered a prescribed mean curvature problem described in terms of a modified volume enclosure functional, \(V_h(S, T)\), where \(S\) and \(T\) are \(m\)-dimensional integral currents with \(\partial(S- T)= 0\) and \(h: \mathbb{R}^{m+ k}\to \Lambda^{m+ 1}(\mathbb{R}^{m+

Mean tangent rotational angles and curvature integration

Computer-Aided Design, 1978
Abstract Stationary values of mean tangent rotation angles are used in the intrinsic-curve design method which defines curves for CAD by specifying curvature and/or torsion profiles. This paper discusses these mean angles ( ψ and φ ) and makes use of ψ to derive approximate formulas for fast integration of curvature profiles.

Performance Analysis of K-means clustering based Hyperbolic Tangent Instituted Classification of Automated Coding Contracts

2020 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Sustainable Systems (ICISS), 2020
The conceptual development of software coding specific contracts wherein programmers’ liaison being very moderate is very definitive to substantially develop contracts that are optimized adequately alleviating the problems in concurring with software specifications, aiding thorough and extended testing of diverse software from the real world.

Measurement of Microwave Loss Tangent by Means of Microwave Resonator Bridge (Short Papers)

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1977
A new cavity method of measurement of microwave loss tangent of a low-loss material is described. The method consists of the comparison of the reflection coefficient of the resonator filled with dielectric with the reflection coefficient of the reference resonator by means of microwave resonator bridge.
