Velocity and Temperature Profiles in Turbulent Boundary Layers With Tangential Injection
Journal of Heat Transfer, 1962Velocity and temperature profiles are presented for the turbulent boundary layer downstream of a tangential injection slot for the further clarification of the film-cooling problem. The profiles refer primarily to an injection mass velocity of 0.36 times that of the free stream; these and other auxiliary results demonstrate a complex hydrodynamic and ...

Method for reducing the tangential velocities in aircraft trailing vortices
Journal of Aircraft, 1980A method is presented to reduce the tangential velocities in the trailing vortex system shed from an airplane wing. The device employed is a porous section of the wing at the tip which essentially tends to equalize the pressure on the upper and lower surfaces.

The three-dimensional distributions of tangential velocity and total-temperature in vortex tubes
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1971The axial and radial gradients of the tangential velocity distribution are calculated from prescribed secondary flow functions on the basis of a zero-order approximation to the momentum equations developed by Lewellen. It is shown that secondary flow functions may be devised which meet pertinent physical requirements and which at the same time lead to ...

Experimental Validation of the Vortex-Core Tangential Velocity 𝐶𝑒
This paper presents a direct, falsifiable experimental test of the Vortex Æther Model (VAM), which postulates that gravitational and temporal phenomena emerge from angular momentum stored in structured vortex knots within a superfluid æther. A core prediction of VAM is the existence of a universal tangential velocity at the boundary of such vortices ...openaire +1 more source
The Limitation of Tangential Velocity and the Generation of Material Fields
This paper explores the theoretical upper limit of tangential velocity in rotating and vibrating structures through the lens of closed surface dynamics. By introducing the constraint vmax=C/K⋅r , where C is the speed of light, r is the radius of the structure, and K is a structural coefficient, the study provides a geometric and physical framework for ...openaire +1 more source
