Experimental and numerical investigation on mixing of dilute oil in water dispersions in a stirred tank

Chemical engineering research & design, 2019
Stirred tanks are commonly employed for liquid–liquid dispersion processes in many industries. This study investigated the effects of agitation speed, and oil type and volume fraction on the hydrodynamic characteristics and chord length distribution (CLD)

Gas-liquid mixing performance, power consumption, and local void fraction distribution in stirred tank reactors with a rigid-flexile impeller

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2018
In this work, the mixing performance of gas–liquid was characterized by the largest Lyapunov exponent (LLE), relative power demand (RPD), power number NP and local void fraction in a rigid-flexible impeller reactor equipped with a tube sparger.

Effects of rotational speed and fill level on particle mixing in a stirred tank with different impellers

Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2017
The particle mixing was studied in a cylindrical stirred tank with elliptical dished bottom by experiments and simulations. The impeller types used were double helical ribbon (HR) + bottom HR, pitched blade ribbon + bottom HR, inner and outer HR + bottom

Weigh Options to Solve Tank‐Mixing Problems

Opflow, 2015
New mixing technologies can prevent stagnation and stratification in potable water storage tanks. These advances, combined with new regulatory requirements and recent cold winters, have spurred interest in tank‐mixing systems. Before you decide to install a mixing system, consider a variety of solutions based on your unique tank issues.

Improvements in Dry Flowable Tank Mix Compatibility

1992
Tank mix compatibility has frequently been a problem for dry flowable formulations. Compatibility with either co-pesticides or liquid fertilizer has been poor in the past resulting in flocculation or sedimentation. Traditional lignosulfonate and naphthalene condensate surfactants used in dry flowables appear to compound these compatibility problems ...

Efficacy of Sulfonylurea Herbicides when Tank Mixed with Mesotrione

Weed Technology, 2008
Experiments were conducted in the greenhouse and the field to evaluate the efficacy of various sulfonylurea herbicides applied with mesotrione or mesotrione + atrazine. The addition of mesotrione or mesotrione + atrazine to sulfonylurea herbicides had no adverse effects on the control of large crabgrass or velvetleaf in a controlled environment.
