Testing the Dry Refuge Model: Paleoecological Insights From Late Pleistocene Gomphotheres in Ecuador
We present paleontological evidence that may prove the Dry Refuge Model in Ecuador during the Late Pleistocene. ABSTRACT Paleoenvironmental records indicate that Neotropical regions near the Equator experienced reduced rainfall during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). However, some records show conflicting environmental signals.

Taxa alimentar no desempenho de juvenis de robalo-peva em tanque-rede
Knowing the optimal feeding rate for a given species is important not only to promote higher growth and greater feeding efficiency, but also to prevent the deterioration of water quality resulting from excess food. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the fat-snook Centropomus parallelus cultivated in net cages under the effect of ...

Multifactorial Screening for Fine‐Scale Selection of CCS Industrial Clusters and Hubs in Brazil
ABSTRACT As Brazil moves toward implementing its decarbonization commitments, carbon capture and storage (CCS) hubs are emerging as a key pathway for large‐scale CO2 abatement in hard‐to‐abate sectors. This paper presents a multifactorial, data‐driven framework to screen and prioritize potential CCS industrial clusters and hubs across Brazilian regions,

Abstract Systematic knowledge of the Mexican Crassulaceae is slowly progressing as data from new DNA regions and species sampling efforts increase. We compiled and generated new rbcL, matK, rps16, ITS/ITS2, and ETS DNA sequences and performed an updated phylogenetic reconstruction for a group of 131 Mexican Crassulaceae terminals from 11 of the 13 ...

This study used environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding to assess vertebrate biodiversity in headwater streams of the Rio Santo Antônio basin, southeastern Brazil, a tributary of the Rio Doce. A total of 119 vertebrate OTUs were identified, with oxidation–reduction potential emerging as the strongest environmental predictor of species richness.

Jung, Bion and the Crucible of War
Abstract WWI had a transformative effect on the lives and ideas of both Carl Jung and Wilfred Bion. Both suffered intense and life‐changing experiences, which they carried with them for the rest of their lives. For Jung, living in neutral Switzerland, the febrile tension of the war emerged in a stream of archetypal imagery, while his daily life ...
