Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Experiment on New Comprehensive Recovery of Micro-fine Particle Low-grade Refractory Tantalum Niobium Lithium Resources

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
The fine-grained low-grade tail mud of the Yichun tantalum niobium ore contains 0.17% Li2O,0.007 1% Ta2O5,0.007 8% Nb2O5, and whiteness is 24.20%. Mineralogical studies indicate that tantalum-niobium minerals and lithium mica particles in the tailings ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Optimization of the tantalum ore production by control the milling process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Tantalum is a strategic metal with multiple applications in the new technologies. Tantalum deposits are scarce in EU. Thus, more efficient extracting processes are necessary to contribute to major European independency on these critical raw materials ...

Progress of 3D printed porous tantalum in orthopedics

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2019
Tantalum, known as "pro-biometal", has excellent bio-inertness and bio-compatibility. Pure tantalum has been used in orthopedics for longer than 80 years. But pure tantalum has little in common with bone tissue in the elastic modulus and is not conducive

The application of niobium and tantalum oxides for implant surface passivation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Despite the advantages of ceramics, with their high corrosion stability in vivo, most medical implant constructions are still made from metals [1]. To increase the corrosion stability of metals, different coatings are applied to the implant surfaces,
