From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...

Solar VLBI [PDF]

open access: yes
In April, 1981, radio telescopes at Dwingeloo (The Netherlands) and Onsala (Sweden) were used as a long-baseline interferometer at a wavelength of 18 cm. The baseline of 619 km gave a spatial resolution on the Sun of about 45 km.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Numerical model for granular compaction under vertical tapping

open access: yes, 2001
A simple numerical model is used to simulate the effect of vertical taps on a packing of monodisperse hard spheres. Our results are in agreement with an experimantal work done in Chicago and with other previous models, especially concerning the dynamics ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Stretching, Tapping, or Compressing–What Role Does Triboelectricity Play in the Signal Output from Piezoelectric Nanogenerators?

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
Piezoelectric energy generation is relevant for developing advanced electronics. However, the poor understanding of the influence of triboelectricity as an alternate charge generation mechanism has, in many cases, resulted in the reporting of exaggerated

Performances of low frequency rubber tapping system with rainguard in high rainfall area in Myanmar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In Myanmar, natural rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) is mainly grown in the southern part of the country, where the rainfall is too high leading to suspension of tapping in the rainy season and intensive tapping after the rainy season.

Temperature‐Modulated Threshold Response in a Volatile Memristor: Toward a Biomimetic Polymodal Nociceptive System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an artificial polymodal nociceptor whose firing threshold is actively modulated by temperature. A volatile TiN/TiOx/ZnO/TiOx/ITO memristor shows interfacial ion–driven resistive switching and membrane‐potential‐like dynamics, enabling temperature‐dependent nociceptive behavior.

Meta-analysis of a large industrial latex diagnosis database provides insight on Hevea brasiliensis clonal adaptation and site-specific yield potential in Western Africa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A meta-analysis of the Latex Diagnosis (LD) database gathering all LD data stored from 2006 to 2018 in SIFCA/SIPH plantations of Côte d'Ivoire (SAPH), Ghana (GREL) and Nigeria (RENL) has been performed.
