AbstractThe phylogenetic position of the taxon Tardigrada is still under debate, though increasing evidence places Tardigrada within Panarthropoda. The question that still arises is whether they are the sistergroup of Onychophora, Arthropoda, or Onychophora + Arthropoda.

Phylum Tardigrada: an “individual” approach
Cladistics, 2008AbstractPhylum Tardigrada consists of ∼1000 tiny, hardy metazoan species distributed throughout terrestrial, limno‐terrestrial and oceanic habitats. Their phylogenetic status has been debated, with current evidence placing them in the Ecdysozoa. Although there have been efforts to explore tardigrade phylogeny using both morphological and molecular data,

Molecular phylogeny of Arthrotardigrada (Tardigrada)
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2010Tardigrades are microscopic ecdysozoans with a worldwide distribution covering marine, limnic and terrestrial habitats. They are regarded as a neglected phylum with regard to studies of their phylogeny. During the last decade molecular data have been included in the investigation of tardigrades.

The coastal marine Tardigrada of the Americas
Zootaxa, 2016The Western Hemisphere or the New World, also known as the Americas (North, Central and South America, associated islands and included seas) have historically been divided into two Realms, the Nearctic and Neotropical based on terrestrial biogeography. The coasts of these two terrestrial realms are bordered by six marine realms, 14 marine provinces and

The Zoogeography of Marine Tardigrada.
Zootaxa, 2015This monograph describes the global records of marine water bears (Phylum Tardigrada). We provide a comprehensive list of marine tardigrades recorded from around the world, providing an up-to-date taxonomy and a complete bibliography accompanied by geographic co-ordinates, habitat, substrate and biogeographic comments.

The tardigrades Echiniscus mauccii, Macrobiotus areolatus, M. echinogenitus, M. harmsworthi, M. hufelandii, M. intermedius, M. islandicus, M. tonollii, and Milnesium tardigradum are reported from Missouri for the first time. This is the fourth record for Macrobiotus tonollii and the third one for Echiniscus mauccii in North America.
