In Switzerland, 2.3% of pregnant women develop preeclampsia. Quantification of the soluble fms‐like tyrosine kinase‐1 (sFlt‐1) and placental growth factor (PlGF) ratio has shown a diagnostic value in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, in particular in ruling out preeclampsia within one week.
