Some Tarsonemid mites from Tamil Nadu, India (Acari: Tarsonemidae)
Oriental Insects, 1984Abstract Five tarsonemid mites are recorded from Tamil Nadu, of which two are new to science. They are Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks), Steneotarsonemus spirifex (Marchal), S. bancrofti (Michael), S. aristidae, sp. nov., and Parasteneotarsonemus panici, sp. nov.

Heterotarsonemus magowskii Khaustov, sp. n. is described from Crimea. Heterotarsonemus coleopterorum (Schaarschmidt, 1959) is reported for the first time from Ukraine. A key to European species of the Heterotarsonemus Smiley is provided. Type material is deposited in the collection of Department of Agroecology, State Nikita Botanical Garden (Yalta).
