Cold hardiness of the broad mite Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Acari: Tarsonemidae)

The cold hardiness of the broad mite, Polyphagotarsonemus latus, a key pest in Rhododendron simsii hybrid production in northwestern Europe, was investigated in the laboratory. Survival of eggs, larvae and female adults and reproduction capacity of female P. latus were evaluated following cold exposure at 7 °C.

New Tarsonemids Associated with Bark Beetles (Acarina: Tarsonemidae)

A new species of Steneotarsonemus (Acari: Tarsonemidae) from Brazil

Abstract Steneotarsonemus concavuscutum sp. nov. (Acari: Tarsonemidae) was described from adult females and males collected on Cocos nucifera L. in northeastern Brazil. This species was distinguished from other species of the genus Steneotarsonemus by the strong concave posterior margin of the prodorsal shield of females.
