Microarchitected Compliant Scaffolds of Pyrolytic Carbon for 3D Muscle Cell Growth

3D microarchitected pyrolytic carbon structures are fabricated using microstereolithography of a precursor resin, followed by carbonization. Novel, compliant carbon structures are also demonstrated. These scaffolds exhibit excellent biocompatibility and 3D cell colonization while culturing C2C12 cells and promoting myotube formation.
