Tax Complexity, Tax Salience and Tax Politics
This article considers the implications of the tax salience literature for the United Kingdom. First, the different categories, and definitions, of tax salience that have developed in the literature are reviewed, and some of the prescriptive implications of these terms are introduced.

Cigarette taxation and consumption in The Czech Republic. Have these factors influenced tax revenue?
The article evaluates the development of the tax burden on cigarettes in the Czech Republic from 1993 to the end of 2023. Tax burden is represented by effective tax rate. The research results show that the tax burden on these products is still increasing.

Tax avoidance and commodity tax differentiation
We examine the optimal combination of direct and indirect taxes in the presence of tax avoidance. Our findings indicate that linear commodity taxes should be included in the optimal tax mix, even when they are subject to avoidance and when the conditions of the Atkinson-Stiglitz theorem hold.
