The Final Ascent: from refuges to ruins in a warming world [PDF]
Mountains exemplify how climate change transforms long-standing refuges into zones of loss. As species track suitable climates upslope, they confront absolute ecological limits.

Echinocereus pensilis updated [PDF]
The taxonomy of the unique Echinocereus pensilis is updated based on recent molecular evidence that supports the 1974 reassessment of this species as meriting its one genus. Hence the most appropriate current taxonomy is for a monospecific genus with the

MGM as a Large‐Scale Pretrained Foundation Model for Microbiome Analyses in Diverse Contexts
We present the Microbial General Model (MGM), a transformer‐based foundation model pretrained on over 260,000 microbiome samples. MGM learns contextualized microbial representations via self‐supervised language modeling, enabling robust transfer learning, cross‐regional generalization, keystone taxa discovery, and prompt‐guided generation of realistic,

This work introduces a scalable, data‐driven strategy that turns the vast sequence diversity of phage receptor‐binding proteins into modular tools for engineering customizable phages. By clustering and experimentally validating diverse RBPs, the authors build an accurate map linking sequence to host specificity and create plug‐and‐play modules that ...

This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

A taxonomy of cyber risk taxonomies
AbstractThe field of cyber risks is rapidly expanding, yet significant research remains to be conducted. Numerous taxonomy‐based systems have been proposed in both the academic literature and industrial practice to classify cyber risk threats. However, the fragmentation of various approaches has resulted in a plethora of taxonomies, often incongruent ...

A real‐world model of structured animal product restriction practiced for religious reasons reveals the dynamic adaptability of the human gut microbiome to dietary change and uncovers reductions in diversity and rare taxa loss. Integrated microbiome, metabolomic, and proteomic analyses uncover coordinated taxonomic and molecular shifts and identify ...
