Adolescence-limited and life-course-persistent antisocial behavior: a developmental taxonomy.

Psychology Review, 1993
A dual taxonomy is presented to reconcile 2 incongruous facts about antisocial behavior: (a) It shows impressive continuity over age, but (b) its prevalence changes dramatically over age, increasing almost 10-fold temporarily during adolescence.

Taxonomy and Molecular Taxonomy

2013
Cryptosporidium parasites belong to the phylum Apicomplexa and possess features of both the coccidia and gregarines. Currently, 25 species of Cryptosporidium are recognized in fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. All 25 species have been confirmed by morphological, biological, and molecular data. Cryptosporidium duismarci and C.

Taxonomy.

2014
Abstract The taxonomy of "the potato", Solanum section Petota, encompassing both the wild relatives of the cultivated potato and the cultigen itself, has a long, convoluted history. This chapter briefly summarizes this history, describes the current state of affairs that is influenced heavily by the use of molecular data, and looks at future ...

Update on the proposed minimal standards for the use of genome data for the taxonomy of prokaryotes

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology
The field of microbial taxonomy is dynamic, aiming to provide a stable and contemporary classification system for prokaryotes. Traditionally, reliance on phenotypic characteristics limited the comprehensive understanding of microbial diversity and ...

The EUREX Taxonomy

2001
One of the most significant tasks performed during the EUREX project was the creation of the taxonomy needed to drive the Regional Workshops and, ultimately, the content of these Software Best Practice Reports. In this chapter, we examine in detail the process that led to the EUREX taxonomy and discuss how the taxonomy led to the selection of PIEs for ...

Dynamic Taxonomies

2006
End-user interactive access to complex information is one of the key functionalities of knowledge management systems. Traditionally, access paradigms have focused on retrieval of data on the basis of precise specifications: examples of this approach include queries on structured database systems, and information retrieval.

Mycobacterial taxonomy

European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, 1994
The minimal standards for including a species in the genus Mycobacterium are i) acid-alcohol fastness, ii) the presence of mycolic acids containing 60-90 carbon atoms which are cleaved to C22 to C26 fatty acid methyl esters by pyrolysis, and iii) a guanine + cytosine content of the DNA of 61 to 71 mol %.
