Chemistry of Chinese yew, Taxus chinensis var. mairei
Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 2008Abstract Taxus chinensis var. mairei (Lemee et Levl) Cheng et L.K. Fu is an evergreen tall tree ubiquitous to the southeastern region in China. The first chemical study on this species was published in 1987. Since then about 163 compounds including taxoids and non-taxane compounds were isolated from seeds, root, bark and leaves of this species ...

Two New Taxanes fromTaxus chinensisvar.mairei
Planta Medica, 1998Two bicyclic taxanes and two abeotaxanes were isolated from the bark and the needles of the Chinese yew, Taxus chinensis var. mairei. The structures of the two new compounds, 5-( N,N-dimethyl-3'-phenylisoseryl)taxachitriene A and 13-acetyl-9-deacetyl-9-benzoyl-10-debenzoyltaxchinin A, were established by spectral methods.

Apoptotic cell death in suspension cultures of Taxus chinensis var. mairei
Biotechnology Letters, 2002Apoptotic cell death was observed in suspension cultures of Taxus chinensis var. mairei under normal cultivation conditions by using microscopy, total DNA agarose gel electrophoresis and in situ end-labeling of fragmented DNA. The morphological and biochemical changes of cells occurred mainly in the non-dividing cell clusters, indicating that the T ...

Control of hypertension in rats using volatile components of leaves of Taxus chinensis var. mairei
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2012The leaves of Taxus chinensis var. mairei (Taxaceae) is used traditionally to fill pillows in some rural areas of China. Its volatile substances have been speculated to be capable of improving sleep quality, making blood pressure stable, and having diuretic capacity as recorded in Ancient Chinese Materia Medica. Using animal models and new technologies,

Chemical Composition of Essential Oils from the Stems of Taxus chinensis var. mairei
Journal of Essential Oil-Bearing Plants (JEOBP), 2019Taxus chinensis var. mairei (Taxaceae) was collected from four distant populations of China. Stem parts were subjected to supercritical CO2 (SFE-CO2) extraction in an extraction apparatus and 0.03-0.10 % essential oil was found.
