Semidefinite Programming by Perceptron Learning [PDF]
We present a modified version of the perceptron learning algorithm (PLA) which solves semidefinite programs (SDPs) in polynomial time. The algorithm is based on the following three observations: (i) Semidefinite programs are linear programs with ...

A machine learning method, opt‐GPRNN, is presented that combines the advantages of neural networks and kernel regressions. It is based on additive GPR in optimized redundant coordinates and allows building a representation of the target with a small number of terms while avoiding overfitting when the number of terms is larger than optimal.

Means and Averages of Taylor Polynomials
Let \(f\) have a continuous \((r+ 1)\)st derivative, nowhere 0 on \([a,b]\) and \(P_ c\) its Taylor polynomial at \(c\). Noting that \(P_ a(M)= P_ b(M)\), if \(r\) is odd, and \(2f(M)= P_ a(M)+ P_ b(M)\), if \(r\) is even, have unique solutions, the author denotes these by \(M^ r_ p\) if \(f(x)= x^ p\) (creating some confusion with his previous ...

ABSTRACT Efficient thermal management in advanced industrial systems requires improved heat transfer performance, particularly under non‐Newtonian fluid behavior and complex surface geometries. This study investigates the two‐dimensional flow and heat transfer characteristics of ternary hybrid nanofluids over both stationary and moving wedge surfaces ...

Stochastic Gradient Descent in High Dimensions for Multi‐Spiked Tensor PCA
ABSTRACT We study the high‐dimensional dynamics of online stochastic gradient descent (SGD) for the multi‐spiked tensor model. This multi‐index model arises from the tensor principal component analysis (PCA) problem with multiple spikes, where the goal is to estimate the unknown signal vectors within the N$N$‐dimensional unit sphere through maximum ...

THE ALGEBRA OF TAYLOR SERIES AND THE ROOTS OF A GENERAL POLYNOMIAL. [PDF]
We develop the basic elements of the algebra of Taylor series. This knowledge allows us to derive a series expression for an exact root of a general polynomial of arbitrary ...

The abscissa of the point of intersection of the tangents of the graph of a convex function at two points is a mean-value of the abscissae of those two points. As generalizations, the author defines mean-values as abscissae of the point of intersection of Taylor or Hermite polynomials of odd degree n to \(C^{n+1}\) functions, convex of order n, at two ...
