Deviations from Tri-Bimaximality and Quark-Lepton Complementarity
We study deviations from tri-bimaximality (TBM) and quark-lepton complementarity (QLC) in a model independent way. The current neutrino experimental data is well approximated by tri-bimaximal generation mixing but the QLC relations are not satisfied with

Increasing condom use in heterosexual men: development of a theory-based interactive digital intervention [PDF]
Increasing condom use to prevent sexually transmitted infections is a key public health goal. Interventions are more likely to be effective if they are theory- and evidence-based.

Neutrino Mixings in SO(10) with Type II Seesaw and theta_{13}
We analyze a class of supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theories with type II seesaw for neutrino masses, where the contribution to PMNS matrix from the neutrino sector has an exact tri-bi-maximal (TBM) form, dictated by a broken S_4 symmetry.

Biodiversity science is improved when silent herbaria speak
Herbaria in the Global South are critical yet underutilized resources for biodiversity science and often absent from international databases and research networks. We highlight the phenomenon of “silent herbaria” using Nigeria as a case study and quantify how these collections fill important gaps in global biodiversity knowledge.

Abstract Precast reinforced concrete segmental linings are frequently used in modern tunneling. In these linings, the longitudinal joints typically have a reduced contact cross‐section and thus often govern the design, particularly in tunnels under high hydrostatic pressure or crossing squeezing or swelling ground with correspondingly high ...

The Reliability of a Tunnel Boring Machine [PDF]
Greater levels of complexity in tunnelling with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) allow higher chances of fail-ures that may increase the potential hazardous risks. This paper presents the results of a study on TBM reliability using risk analysis.

Phenology of migrating game birds in Italy based on citizen science data
Studying the timing of the seasonal movements of migratory birds, known as migration phenology, is crucial for managing and conserving migratory bird populations. This is particularly important for migratory game bird populations in Europe because, according to the EU, migratory birds should not be hunted during their breeding season or during return ...
