Total Cost of Ownership of Electric Vehicles: A Synthesis of Critical Factors

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
Global warming caused by fossil fuel consumption has highlighted electric vehicles (EVs) as a key strategy to decarbonize transportation. However, adoption faces challenges such as high costs, limited range, and insufficient charging infrastructure. This

Fabrication of BaZr0.1Ce0.7Y0.1Yb0.1O3‐δ Skeleton Structure for the Development of High‐Performance Nanocomposite Cathodes for Protonic Ceramic Fuel Cells by Nitrate Impregnation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A homologous BZCYYb1711 cathode skeleton was constructed using the same material as the electrolyte, and active components were introduced into the skeleton via nitrate impregnation to form a nanocomposite cathode. This strategy effectively alleviated the thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) mismatches between the cathode and electrolyte.

Loss Analysis of Low Bandgap (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 Solar Cells for Tandem Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A complete loss analysis has been carried out on the state‐of‐the‐art 1.0 eV bandgap (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells, which are of interest for tandem devices. The most significant loss mechanisms are found in the open‐circuit voltage, due to non‐radiative losses in the chalcopyrite absorber, and in the fill factor, caused by space‐charge region ...

Improving TCO-Conjugated Antibody Reactivity for Bioorthogonal Pretargeting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Cancer remains a major cause of death because of its unpredictable progression. Utilizing bioorthogonal chemistry between trans-cyclooctene (TCO) and tetrazine to target imaging agents to tumors in two subsequent steps offers a more versatile platform ...

Investigation of Tin Oxide Atomic Layer Deposition on the Performance of Evaporated Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Impact of co‐reactants and their doses utilized during the atomic layer deposition of SnOx on perovskite/C60 structures on the performance of p‐i‐n perovskite solar cells. ABSTRACT Although tin oxide (SnOx) layers grown using atomic layer deposition (ALD) are routinely employed in p‐i‐n perovskite solar cells (PSCs), the correlation between ALD process

Nanomedicine applications in lymphoma: Advancing precision diagnostics, targeted therapeutics, and prospective developments

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that can appear in lymph nodes, blood, bone marrow, spleen, liver, or the central nervous system, which makes drug delivery and disease monitoring difficult. This review summarizes how nanomedicine technologies may improve targeted treatment and imaging, while carefully separating approved or guideline‐supported ...

Boosted unsupervised feature selection for tumor gene expression profiles

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract In an unsupervised scenario, it is challenging but essential to eliminate noise and redundant features for tumour gene expression profiles. However, the current unsupervised feature selection methods treat all samples equally, which tend to learn discriminative features from simple samples.

Assessing and strengthening community‐based coastal governance

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Community‐based coastal governance is essential for biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods, yet many communities continue to face significant challenges in establishing and sustaining effective governance systems. We sought to improve understanding of the current status of community‐based coastal governance across five countries

Leaders Are Somethin' Else: Behavioural Variation Associated With Roles During Tandem Running Recruitment

open access: yesEthology, EarlyView.
In this study, we found moderate to strong repeatabilities in behavioural variables measuring the personality traits: activity, aggressiveness and exploration. Similarly, the probability of acting as a leader during tandem running in an emigration event was moderately (R = 0.469) repeatable.
