Mechanically Mutable Matrices: A Hierarchical Investigation of Decellularized Sea Cucumber Collagen as an Adaptable Scaffold Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sea cucumber mutable collagenous tissue (MCT) is a remarkable collagen‐based material which can rapidly undergo large changes in stiffness through transiently bound effector proteins. Here, we investigate the hierarchical structure and mechanical response of MCT from Cucumaria frondosa across length scales with a wide range of methods, also exploring ...

Development of an Adaptive File Transfer Protocol (AFTP ) [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2011
File is one of the main storing units of information. There is a great need to transfer file through computer network especially the internet. The model that is used in Internet is the TCP-IP. The TCP-IP model consists of four layers. The lowest layer is

Bismuth‐Based Photocatalysts for Water Remediation: Design Strategies, Mechanisms, and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights representative design strategies for bismuth‐based semiconductor photocatalysts in solar‐driven water purification. Emphasis is placed on electronic structure regulation, oxygen‐vacancy engineering, and interfacial coupling to enable efficient full‐spectrum light utilization, improved charge separation, and selective oxidation in

TCP goes to hollywood [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 26th International Workshop on Network and Operating Systems Support for Digital Audio and Video, 2016
Real-time multimedia applications use either TCP or UDP at the\ud transport layer, yet neither of these protocols offer all of the features\ud required. Deploying a new protocol that does offer these features\ud is made difficult by ossification: firewalls, and other middleboxes,\ud in the network expect TCP or UDP, and block other types of traffic.\ud

Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.

A Systematic Study of GelMA‐Carbopol Bioinks for High‐Fidelity Extrusion 3D Bioprinting at Physiological Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Gonzalez Martinez and collaborators develop a strategy to formulate high performance GelMA‐based bioinks with low solids contents. The resulting bioinks enable 3D bioprinting at 37 °C of high‐fidelity structures with tunable mechanical properties that support high cell viability and function.

Formation of delta-doped p-layer of hydrogen in natural and CVD-diamond crystals

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2011
A method is proposed for the hydrogen heat treatment of natural and CVD-diamond crystals, which can serve as an alternative to conventional method of forming H-layer in microwave plasma of hydrogen as a simpler one and more reproducible.

Bioprinting High‐Cell‐Density Cardiac Tissue Constructs With Sustained Contractile Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Contractile cardiomyocytes in 3D culture provide insights into the behavior of the heart. Combining a 3D bioprinting approach with a multi‐electrode array allows the development of the 3D culture to be monitored over time, and matured cultures allow the effect of drugs on cardiac function to be modelled, replicating effects seen in clinical application.
