TCSC: A New Type Of Spatial Crowdsourcing

2019 20th IEEE International Conference on Mobile Data Management (MDM), 2019
The popularity of advanced mobile terminals allows spatial crowdsourcing to be widely used. In this work, we study a new type of spatial crowdsourcing, called time-continuous spatial crowdsourcing (TCSC in short). This type of crowdsourcing is primarily concerned with tasks that take a long time to finish and involves time-sharing among multiple ...

A comparative study of three nonlinear controllers for TCSC

2001 IEEE Porto Power Tech Proceedings (Cat. No.01EX502), 2002
The paper reviews modeling of thyristor-controlled series capacitors (TCSC) which are highly nonlinear systems with continuous and discontinuous states, and proposes three nonlinear controllers for them: (1) a Lyapunov-based controller; (2) an interconnection and damping assignment (IDA) controller; and (3) a dynamical flatness-based feedback ...

Impact of TCSC control methodologies on subsynchronous oscillations

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2002
This paper presents a detailed analysis of the impact of different TCSC control methodologies on subsynchronous oscillations problem of series capacitive compensated transmission systems. The first IEEE benchmark model for the analysis of SSR phenomena is adopted. The system was evaluated for several different compensation levels.

Studies for the integration of a TCSC in a transmission system

2004 International Conference on Power System Technology, 2004. PowerCon 2004., 2005
Series capacitors are widely used in long distance transmission systems to improve stability of power transmission. Thyristor-controlled series capacitors provide additional benefits for the transmission system compared to fixed series capacitors.

Mathematical model for describing characteristics of TCSC

Proceedings. International Conference on Power System Technology, 2003
The choice of the synchronizing signal has strong impacts on the transient behaviors of TCSC (thyristor controlled series compensation). When the capacitor voltage is used as the synchronizing signal, both overshoot and oscillation occur. However, when the line current is employed, TCSC acts as a first-order lag element.

The Study of an Economic Hybrid TCSC Structure

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
The capability to damp sub-synchronous oscillations of single-phase TCSC, two-phase TCSC, three-phase TCSC is comparatively studied in this paper. SVR (Synchronous Voltage Reversal) is used as the control strategy of these three schemes. And IEEE first benchmark model is taken as the simulation example.

Selection of TCSC parameters: Capacitor and inductor

India International Conference on Power Electronics 2010 (IICPE2010), 2011
Thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC) device is a series compensator to govern the power flow by compensating the reactance of the transmission line. Both capacitive and inductive reactance compensations are possible by proper selection of capacitor and inductor values of the TCSC device which can be realized through reactance equation.

Impacts of TCSC and FSC on the Power-Angle

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The Characteristics of FSC (Fixed Series Compensation) and TCSC (Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor) damping power-angle oscillation and increasing the limit of power transmission were analyzed. FSC can damp the power-angle in a certain extent.

Impact of wind integration on placement of TCSC

2016 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical Electronics & Sustainable Energy Systems (ICETEESES), 2016
This paper deals with optimal location of Flexible AC Transmission system (FACTS) device like Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) by performing Optimal Power Flow (OPF). The OPF is performed on IEEE-14 bus system by minimizing the total system cost with an iterative procedure and the impact of wind integration on the considered system is ...

Clarification of the SSR mitigation mechanism of a TCSC

Electrical Engineering in Japan, 1997
A thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) is considered to be effective not only for flow control and stabilization of power systems, but also for mitigation of subsynchronous resonance (SSR). This paper clarifies the SSR mitigation mechanism of a TCSC.
