A Size, Weight, Power, and Cost-Efficient 32-Channel Time to Digital Converter Using a Novel Wave Union Method

open access: yesSensors, 2023
We present a Tapped Delay Line (TDL)-based Time to Digital Converter (TDC) using Wave Union type A (WU-A) architecture for applications that require high-precision time interval measurements with low size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) requirements ...

The use of joint attention in the naturalistic setting in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This study investigates the deficits in the quantity and quality of joint attention in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). To obtain a holistic measure of joint attention, the following four aspects were considered: a) the quantity of ...

Frontal tDCS modulates orbitofrontal reality filtering

open access: yesNeuroscience, 2014
Orbitofrontal reality filtering denotes a memory control mechanism necessary to keep thought and behavior in phase with reality. Its failure induces reality confusion as evident in confabulation and disorientation. In the present study, we explored the influence of orbitofrontal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on reality filtering ...

Topological Defects in Carbon Matrix Are Efficiently Constructed by Joule Thermal Shock for Catalyzing the Growth of Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Joule thermal shock technique ensures the efficient construction of topological defects in the carbon matrix because the instantaneous cooling suppresses the graphitization rearrangement of the heteroatom removal sites. This topological defect carbon can activate carbon source molecules by electron transfer, and further grow into carbon nanotubes ...

Calculations of the Exciton Coupling Elements Between the DNA Bases Using the Transition Density Cube Method

open access: yes, 2007
Excited states of the of the double-stranded DNA model (A)$_{12}\cdot$(T)_{12} were calculated in the framework of the exciton theory. The off-diagonal elements of the exciton matrix were calculated using the transition densities and ideal dipole ...

Integrated Ultrasound Device for Precision Bladder Volume Monitoring via Acoustic Focusing and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a conformable wearable ultrasound patch for noninvasive bladder volume monitoring. A flexible PZT array combined with a concave acoustic lens concentrates acoustic energy and improves depth selectivity through the anterior pelvic wall.

An Effective Adaptive Gain Dynamics for Time-Delay Control of Robot Manipulators

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The time-delay control (TDC) has recently been spotlighted as an effective solution owing to model-free, efficient, and robust properties thanks to a time-delay estimation (TDE) technique. The gain of TDC, usually denoted by M̅, is crucial for its

Cadmium and Zinc‐Doped p‐type Sb2Se3 Single Crystals and Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Cd and Zn were assessed as candidate p‐type dopants in Sb2Se3 single crystals in concentrations between 1016‐1020 cm−3. Both are effective in inducing p‐type conductivity, however Cd doped crystals exhibit lower resistivity across a wider range of dopant levels.
