Analyzing TDMA with Slot Skipping
26th IEEE International Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS'05), 2006Distributed real-time systems, such as factory automation systems, require that computer nodes communicate with a known and low bound on the communication delay. This can be achieved with traditional time division multiple access (TDMA). But improved flexibility and simpler upgrades are possible through the use of TDMA with slot-skipping (TDMA/SS ...

Learning, self-scheduling TDMA (LeSS-TDMA) for wireless sensor networks
2008 4th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing, 2008This paper proposes a novel approach for scheduling TDMA activity in a sensor network, where nodes create their own schedules by learning from previous activity, called LeSS-TDMA. The protocol uses routing information to establish a schedule appropriate for periodical data gathering, which is the main traffic type in sensor networks.

Performance of demand assignment TDMA and multicarrier TDMA satellite networks
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1992The authors develop an analytical model of satellite communication networks using time-division multiple-access (TDMA) and multiple-carrier TDMA (MC-TDMA) systems to support circuit-switched traffic. The model defines the functions required to implement fixed assignments (FAs), variable destinations (VDs), and demand assignments (DAs).

Contention-TDMA protocol: performance evaluation
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2002A hybrid access protocol known, as contention time-division multiple access (C-TDMA), is presented and analyzed in a radio cellular multiuser system scenario. C-TDMA shows some features of contention-based (slotted-ALOHA) and reservation-based (packet reservation multiple access, PRMA) protocols.

TDMA communication for SS/TDMA satellites with optical intersatellite links
IEEE International Conference on Communications, Including Supercomm Technical Sessions, 1990A novel approach for the optimal time slot assignment problem for two SS/TDMA (satellite-switched time division multiple access) satellites interconnected through WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) optical intersatellite links is presented.

USS-TDMA: Self-stabilizing TDMA Algorithm for Underwater Wireless Sensor Network
2009 International Conference on Computer Engineering and Technology, 2009Underwater wireless Sensor network is often constrained by limited power, limited communication range and high bit error rate (BER). We focus on designing a TDMA service for a cube-based underwater wireless sensor network. Such network is readily found in many applications in the area of monitoring, hazard detection, and so on.

UD-TDMA: A distributed TDMA protocol for underwater acoustic sensor network
2009 IEEE 6th International Conference on Mobile Adhoc and Sensor Systems, 2009This paper presents a distributed and robust time slot scheduling algorithm, which is suitable for underwater acoustic sensor network (UASN). The information of nodes' 2-hop neighbors is needed to be collected and then be used to calculate nodes' initial time slot by a distributed algorithm.

CP-TDMA: Coloring- and Probability-Based TDMA Scheduling for Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2008This paper addresses the issue of transmission scheduling in wireless ad hoc networks. We propose a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) scheduling scheme based on edge coloring and probabilistic assignment, called CP-TDMA. We categorize the conflicts suffered by wireless links into two types: explicit conflicts and implicit conflicts, and utilize two ...

MILCOM 2007 - IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2007
The Integrated Waveform 25kHz and 5kHz UHF Satellite Standards (MIL-STD-188-181C and MIL-STD-188-183B) describe a network time-division multiple-access (TDMA) method which relies on the use of Continuous Phase Modulated (CPM) waveforms. The CPM modulation types have higher baud rates than the modems used for the existing Demand-Assigned Multiple-Access
