Profiling the sleep architecture of ageing adults using a seven‐state continuous‐time Markov model

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary Sleep is a complex biological process regulated by networks of neurons and environmental factors. As one falls asleep, neurotransmitters from sleep–wake regulating neurones work in synergy to control the switching of different sleep states throughout the night. As sleep disorders or underlying neuropathology can manifest as irregular switching,

Soft‐tissue volume augmentation during early, delayed, and late dental implant therapy: A systematic review and meta‐analysis on professionally determined esthetics and self‐reported patient satisfaction on esthetics

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract The objective of the study was to assess the effect of soft‐tissue volume augmentation during early, delayed, and late dental implant therapy in terms of professionally determined esthetics and self‐reported patient satisfaction on esthetics. For this, a comprehensive electronic literature search was performed to identify randomized clinical ...

Factors Influencing Resection Time in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Rectal Neuroendocrine Tumors

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives The usefulness of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) is well established. However, factors influencing resection time remain unclear. This study aimed to identify these factors during ESD for rectal NETs.

Pesticide prioritization based on risk and model diet proposals for assessing cumulative exposure to pesticide residues in the Brazilian population through food consumption

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 4, Page 3853-3873, April 2026.
A risk classification of registered pesticides in Brazil was conducted, and the contribution of food to cumulative pesticide exposure was evaluated. Model diets were proposed, based on Brazilian consumption patterns. Abstract BACKGROUND Pesticide residue exposure assessments can be carried out during both the pre‐regulation and post‐regulation phases ...

Vibration‐Assisted Polymerization for Void‐Minimized Gel Polymer Electrolytes with Enhanced Interfacial Stability

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 6, 17 March 2026.
Mechanical vibration during in‐situ polymerization of gel polymer electrolytes promotes uniform gelation and suppresses gas‐induced interfacial voids, resulting in strong electrode–electrolyte adhesion and stable cycling of lithium metal batteries.

Development of Tunable Materials From Well‐Defined Alendronic Acid Functionalized Polyacrylamide: An Opportunity for Actinide Decontamination

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 64, Issue 6, Page 1431-1443, 15 March 2026.
Alendronate‐based copolymers for Nd and Ce recovery. ABSTRACT Bisphosphonic acid groups are emerging as promising functionalities for actinide decontamination, due to their high density of chelating sites. However, the chemistry of bisphosphonate (in particular alendronate) materials remains complex and underexplored.

Metal‐Directed Self‐Assembly in a Beta‐Sheet Miniprotein Scaffold

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 7, 2 March 2026.
A rationally engineered miniprotein, V14C, which is based on the beta β‐sheet Foldon domain, self‐assembles via a metal‐binding site to form well‐defined oligomers in the presence of Zn2+, Hg2+, and Cd2+. This modular design expands the toolbox for creating custom metalloproteins, enabling studies of metal–protein interactions for biochemical functions
